The members of the San Pa-
tricio County Home Demonstra-
tion Council gave their annual
luncheon for the members of the
Commiaioners Court, friday
March 18th, at the Community
Club House in Sint on
Following. tjtc luncheon the
regular modfhly^meeting was held
in the office of the County Home
Demonstration Agent, Mrs Atrelle
Miller. Reports of the district
meeting held in Raymondvdlle
were given by Mrs. Owen I)ragoo
of Sinton. It was announced the
State meeting will 1m- held August
29-31, at A & M. College, Bryan.
Guests at the meeting were Mrs.
Florence Cox’ organizations spec-
ialist of A. ft M. College and Miss
Buclah Blackwell. District Home
Demonstration Agent, Weslaco.
Mrs. Cox gave pointers on proce-
dure and functionings of the coun-
cil "and individual clubs. Miss
Blackwell talked on needs of pre-
paration for our civil defense pro-
gram.
The "Home Care of the Sick”
course had its second meeting
Tuesday night at the high school.

Robert Hintz of Woodsboro was
guest speaker and gave an inter-
esting talk on perennial and an-

charge of the program, gave am
interesting talk on the musical
development of San Francisco for
the past century.

Church To Have
Day Apart Service
The Woman's Society of Chris-
tian Servjee of the Methodist
Church are participating in a Day
Apart Service, Good Friday,
March 23rd at 10:00 A M. All are
asked to bring a Bible, pencil,
notebook, and sandwiches for the
lunch hour. The theme for the day
is "Strength for Our Weakness.”
The First 'Meditation, “God's,
Strength on God’s Terms” will be
given by Mrs. M. C. Stearns, lea-
der; Second Meditation "Strength
for Today” by Mj*. Murry Steph-
enson; Third Meditation,
‘Strength for the Future,” by Mrs.
Travis Moorman; and Lenten
Offering-Organ Music by Mrs. J.
W. Brewer.
During the quiet*lunch hour,
Mrs. Sid MtHinnon will read “Oug
Answer to God’s Grace,” by
Douglas - Steere.

The Ladies Aid and Missionary
Society of the Grace Lutheran
Church, met for their regular
meeting Tuesday afternoon, with
Mrs. Helmuth Adams and Mfs.

The Bible Study was presented
by Rev. Kermit Menking. Mrs.
Phil Ludwig who had charge of
the program gave :a magazine quiz
on “Home Missions.” Mrs. E. H.
Foerster gave a report on Life
Membership and Memorials and a
playlet on the same topic was pre-
sented.
A free will offering was taken
for New Guinea Christmas Cheer
Boxes, which is a regular project
of the society. _
Following the business meeting
a social hour was enjoyed. The
Easter motif was carried out in the
refreshments which were sei'Ved
to 27 members, one visitor and
Rev. Menking.

to the Sinton Eads HD Club at .the
V.F.W. Hall on Wednesday March
The meeting was opened by Mrs.
Owen Dragoo and Mrs. Floyd
Dragoo read the miiiutes and gave
a treasury report. The report be-
ing unfavorable, it wap voted to
give a bake sale on Saturday bp-
fore Easter.
Following a short busind* mint-
ing Mrs. Atrelle Miller gave ' a
demonstration on a skillet dinner.
Refreshments of a skillet din-
ner, cookies, candies and cokes
