been decided on, for the scenes of
“Adcle" are laid generally in France,

tor and shipped by an Amiens archi-

France. Meantime shells hail demol-
ished the chateau. Then Mfss Gordon

finds them.
There is no possible way to scale
the cliff and cut them down, and he
cannot reach .them with a lariat. Tlie
Indian drives four stakes beneath one
of the suspended men nnd over them
stretches n blanket. Then, with his
rifle, he cuts the rope, letting the vic-
tim of the outlaws’ vengeance fall,
senseless but still alive, into the blan-
ket.
Five times he repeats this and not
once does be fail until all are res-
cued and revived nnd able again to
take up the trail of the outlaws, andrt
the search for the buried treasure.
Tins big scene was filmed with
splendid realism out on the Califor-
nia-Arizona desert mid. L one of the
high lights in the serial. William
Dnncan has tlie featured role and is
supported by an all-star east, includ-
ing Edith Johnson nnd Joe Ryan.
