his week to be a victim of polio.

Ben Boyce Undergoes
Emergency Operation
Ben Boyce is reported to be
resting quietly at. Deaf Smith
, ounty hospital now following
un emergency operation Tuesday
aftPrnoon.
j Boyce, who recently bought
tire whiteface Barber Shop, was
at work Tuesday when he sud-
i denly became ill. An ambulance
I was summoned and he was taken
immediately to the hospital.
Boyce lias been in Hereford
about six months, and worked
in the barber shop until he pur-
chased it last month from Pack
London.

Mr. and Mrs. L. F. Carter of
Summerfield announce the mar-
riage o. their daughter, Naoma.

Marriage vows were read at the
Summerfield Baptist Church,
. unday. August 7 by Rev. A. A
Simmons.
Attendants for the couple were
Dorothy Lee, sister of the groom,

groom.
For her wedding the bride
chose a blue satin dress with
alack accessories. Her corsage
was of white carnations. Her
maid of honor wore an aqua
dress and white accessories. Hef
corsage was also of white ear-
nations.
After the ceremony the couple
left for a honeymoon in Ar-
kansas and Missouri. Upon their
return they will make their
norm* in Summerfield where ihe
groom is engaged in farming
interests. Mrs. Lee was a 1949
graduate of Hereford High
School.
Close friends and relatives of
file couple attended the rites.
Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Ricketts re-
; tuned Sunday from a two week's
vacation spent in the famous na-
tional parks of the northwest.
On this trip they toured Glaz-
ier National Park and Yellow-
stone National Park.
Miss Myrtle Murray, state
Home Demonstration extension
agent, was a guest Monday in
the home of Mr. and Mrs. Glenn
Boardman. Mrs. Boardman is a
cousin to Miss Murray.

S. L. Harman Leaves On
Business Pleasure Trip
S. L. Harman left Tuesday by
plane on a combined business
and pleasure trip to the south-
land. He will visit his brother.
Professor J. A Harman at tire
Harman School of Music in
Harrisonburg, Virginia, and will
attend the family reunion at
Harman, West Virginia. lie
plans to be gone about three
weeks and before hi.s return w.ll
visit the eastern markets in the
interest of new fall merchandise.

zone to the Rocky Mountains
to spend about a ten day vaca-
