mood, realising • that they had
been most royally entertained.
On last lYiday evening the
beautiful home of A. D. Dunn
was opened to a happy throng
of American ladies and gentle-
men, accepting of the kindness
of the hostesses, Mrs. A. D.
Dunn and Miss Lucile Graham,
and enjoying the delight of mak-
and renewing the acquaint-
of Miss Lillian Collier, of
Hico, the lady of honor for the
evening,
The home was beautiftffly dec-
orated, the halls, dining-room
and porches adorned in red,
white and blue, and the waving
stars and stripes of our grand
old America.
The guests were greeted at the
door by Mr. Dunn, from whom
they passed to the receiving line,
in which were Mrs. Dunn, Misses
Collier Graham, Graves, and
Du Val, from whose hands they
were taken by Miss Nell Roscoe
and ushered upstairs to hall and
dressing room. In the hall they
were met by Misses Amelia Alex-
ander and Bessie Starkweather,
who had them register in the
guest book, which was beauti-
fully ornamented in America’s
prettiest colors, red, white and
blue ribbons and flags. They
were then ushered to the dining
room, where, in the center of
the table, stood a magnificent
punch bowl, festooned in the pa-
triotic colors of the evening,
from which Misses Jessie Wood-
ward and Vivian White took and
proffered them refreshing punch.
When leaving this place each re-
ceived a flag score card, the
ladies from Tom Strickland, the
gentlemen from Miss Wilma
Powell. The next beautiful
place was the “liberty porch,”
where they’were assisted in find-
ing their respective tables by
Mesdames Clyde Loper, of Dallas
George G. Murray, Mr C. F.<Du-
masand Dr. J. T. Weatherly.
The game of the evening was
dominoes.
Just before leaving the guests
were treated to delicate refresh-
ments of cake and cream.
All were more than delighted
with the happy way in which
their accomplished hostesses had
entertained them.
