* Last Thursday afternoon the wind
commenced to blow a regular gale
aud increased in fury after dark.
An ominous black eloud. formed and
for a time appeared to be approach-
ing Coleman, but suddenly the clond
parted and went around the town,
and about nine o’clock what must
hare been one prong of this dark
cloud struck the southeast suberb of
the neighboring town Santa Anna, in
the shape of u regular cyclone, de-
stroying everything in its wako and
leaving a serpentine trail about 100

Anna were completely destroyed, to-
gether with the furniture. One per-
son was killed and quite a number of
others ,wounded. The first house
