A dipping from a California
paper states that while Mr. and
Mrs. Clyde Teeters, formerly cit-
izens of Jack County, but now of
Long Beach, California, while
hunting for abalone along Lagu-
na Beach, after securing a num-
ber of these shell fish, in opening
them, found a large pearl in one
them, the value of which was
estimated at over $500 by a gem
expert. The clipping states that
the abalone shell fish can be ob-
tained only at extreme low tide as
they haunt the deeper waters and
it is necessary to “go in all over”
to reach them, gmd then in some
instances it is a case of diving for
the delectable meats of the deep.
