To The Citizens
Of Coleman:
am Don Carnes, your can-
didate for North Ward Council.
I worked for the City of
Coleman for thirteen years
including four years, as City
Secretary and Tax Assessor-
Collector and nine years as
Bookkeeper.
I would like the opportunity
to serve as your Councilman as
I feel like I know as much
about City business as anyone
in Coleman; after sitting in on
Council meetings for four
years. I feel like this qualifies
me to be one of your represen-
tatives on your City Council.
The City said they were
taking the brush truck service
from us in order to control cost
and conserve energy and yet
they annexed some 800 or so
acres of land into the city
limits; (of which we didn’t need,
Coleman isn’t growing) and
now have picked up some 5
miles of dirt road to keep up
and maintain. Does that sound
like controlling cost and con-
serving energy?
If you want a fair shake and a
square deal in representation of
your City dollars and City
government; I take this op-
portunity at this time to ask
you for your vote and support.

WATER WASTE
As much os six gallons of hot
. water can go down the drain
during a five minute shave.
And that loss costs you money.
A leaking hot water faucet
that will fill a coffee cup within
10 minutes wastes more than
3,000 gallohs of hot water
annually and that’s more money
out of your pocket.

[LEFT] THE HOSCH GIRLS, Shdyla and Shannon,
along with Selina Cook, left to right, are decked out
in their Easter finery with fashions from Phillips
Drug. Shayla is wearing a tulip suit by Palm Island,
Shannon models a terry outfit with matching skirt
by Andy Lou, while Selina is quite "snazzy” in her
white eyelet sun dress by Palm Island. Shayla and
Shannon are the daughters of Gary and Kay Hosch
of Wylie, Texas, while Selina is the daughter of
Danny and Glenda Cook of Santa Anna. The girls'
sandals are from Keds while the Easter baskets they
are holding are from Russell Stover candies.
No . . . Shannon (Center) is not doing the "bunny
hop" . . . . she was injured in a skiing accident
recently and it was necessary for her to "hop"
around to model the Easter fashions.
[RIGHT] THE BARKLEY BOYS, Michael and Mark,
along with two-and-a-half year old Tom Guthrie do
their part in the Phillips Drug Easter fashion show
by modeling boys' apparel. Michael, left, is wearing
a coordinated pants and shirt outfit from Lee, while
Mark, right, is ready for Easter in his white pants
and striped shirt outfit from Billy The Kid. "Little
Bit" Tom is seated comfortably in his 3 piece suit
and tie from Billy The Kid . . . his Easter basket is
also from Russell Stover. The kiddos shoes, though
not pictured, were from Keds. Michael and Mark
are the sons of David and Carolyn Barkley of
Brownwood, while Tom is the son of Lane and
Sharon Guthrie of Santa Anna.
