Tuesday for a fishing trip to Buch-

Good rains fell over mast of the
county Tuesday night, accompanied
by strong winds and some hail.
Considerable damage was reported
by the wind in various sections, In-
cluding heavy damage to the fruit
crops, blowing most of it off the
trees Windows were broken, roofs
lifted, and other damages retorted.
Rainfall In Coleman was .81; in
Santa Anna, over an Inch; Gould-
busk, .50: Fisk. 25; Novice, .91;
Talpa, .75; Valera, one inch; other
points not reported.
Jim Thompson of San Francisco,
Calif., is visiting this week with his
daughter, Miss Louise Thompson.
Mrs. Cairie Jones and Miss Bar-
bara Riley spent Sunday at Brown-
wood Lake,
Mrs. D. P. Rockmaker visited In
San Antonio this week.
Judge and Mis. Leman Brown
have moved to Coleman from Santa
Anna, and located at 1208 Commer-
cial.
Mrs. James W. King and Miss
Loyce Parker visited in Trickham
with the Lancastei i and attended
the singing class Sunday.
John McCulloch and daughter,
Mrs. George Tabor of Throckmor-
ton spent the past weekend here
visiting relatives and friends.

Mr and Mrs. Charley Woodruff
of Brownwood vLsited here Sunday
with their son, Hunter, and Mrs
Woodruff.
Mrs. Rob O'Hair and son Rob, Jr.,
and Mrs. Hattie O’Hair, visited Sun-
day in San Antonio with Pvt. Rob
O'Hair, who is stationed at Fort
Sam Houston. They also visited
| with Capt. Mac Woodward, who Is
j stationed at Randolph Field. Pvt
' O'Hair is asslgnged to headquar-
ters office and Is very pleased with
his work.
Mrs S. L. Gilliam left for Albu-
querque, N. M, Sunday, where she
will visit With her mother. Mrs. John
Meeks and sister, Mrs. Henry Davis,
also other relatives. She will re-
turn to Coleman this weekend.
Mrs. Ruth Benton has returned
from Houston, where she has been
living for the past year and is visit-
ing with friends and relatives at
Mozelle and Coleman.
Centennial High School Chapter

tennial district There will be
plenty of barbecue and sweets for

The annual meeting of the Cole-
man County Chapter, American Red
Cross will be* held In the assembly
room of the agriculture building,
Thursday afternoon, May 10th, at
2:30 p m.
Reports will be made by various
activity committee c h a t r m a n
and officers for the ensuing year
will be elected. The nominating
committee is composed of Cecil
Gray, S. E. McDonald. W. H. Plt-
tard. Mrs. Willie Wheat and Mrs C
D Bruce of Santa Anna All mem-
bers are asked to attend this meet-
ing. v
Mrs. Elmer Hennig of Lowake will
arrive Friday to spend the weekend
with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. R R.
Browning.

ed to attend the cooker clinic to
be held by Miss Jewell Hipp, in the
