Driver's Ed to Begin
Instructor Rosilie Pavlat announced today
Driver's Ed Courses are scheduled to begin
Monday, June 8. The classes are set Monday
through Friday, 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. in the Ag.
Building. •
Students must be 15 years old and pay the
$65.00 registration fee.

Tax Representative
tVisit Scheduled
Comptroller Bob Bullock will have a tax
representative in Jacksboro Tuesday, June 9
from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m.
Those with questions about state taxes are
urged to meet with this spokesman in the
Jack County Courthouse.
XYZ to Observe Flag Day
The XYZ Club will observe June Flag Day
during the Tuesday, June 2 meeting in the
First United Methodist Church Fellowship
Hall. All members are invited to bring any
flags they have for display.
The program begins at 11:15 a.m!, followed
by a noon covered dish luncheon.
E.B. Abemathie, new club president,
invites all senior citizens to attend and bring
a guest.

SCHOOL BOARD-(regulates school
district activities)
Meets in the Jacksboro High School
Library, the first Monday after the 5th of
each month at 6:00 p.m.
CHAMBER OF COMMERCE-(supervises
local trade and civic activities)
Meets in the Green Frog Restaurant
Dining Room, each third Tuesday at 7:00
a.m. and third Thursday at noon.

Thursday Parade Kicks
Off 22nd Annual Rodeo
The Jack County Sheriffs Posse Rodeo is
scheduled Thursday, Friday and Saturday,
June 4,5 and 6. Books open Wednesday, June
3 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chamber of Commerce
Office and close at 6:00 p.m.
Those planning to enter rodeo events are
asked to register during this time. The
Chamber of Commerce number is 567-9R02.
The 22nd annual rodeo will feature a
downtown parade Thursday, June 4 at 5:30
p.m. with first, second and third place
trophies awarded.
Calf scrambles, two each night, are
planned for the youngsters and a steer
saddling or wild horse race will be held each
night.
Other eveqts include bareback bronc rid-
ing, saddle bronc riding, the girls' barrel race,
steer wrestling, team roping, calf roping and
bull riding.
Charlie O'Bannon will lead the band
plavine during the rodeo dance in the Posse
Building Pavilion each night.
General admission fee is $3.00 and $1.50 for
children under 12.
Beauty Pageant Judges Chosen
Judges for the Tuesday, June 2 B&PW
Beauty Pageant have been selected. They are
Helen Henry, Nadell McGlaun and S.L.
Hanson.
Henry is an assistant vice president of the
Women's Personal Service at the First-
Wichita National Bank of Wichita Falls. She
is an active member of the National
Association of Banking Women, has held
various Dositions in NABW, teaches in the
Midwestern University continuing educa-
tion program, attended Midwestern Univer-
sity and is an active member of the Wichita
Falls First Baptist Church.
McGlaun is an administrative officer and
lobby operations manager at the First-
Wichita National Bank in Wichita Falls, a
member of the American Institute of
Banking and National Association of
Banking Women, attended McMurray
College in Abilene and Midwestern
University in Wichita Falls and is «n active
member of the First Baptist Church in'
Wichita Falls.
Vice President of the Bowie National
Bank, Hanson is active in the Bowie Kiwanis

11:30 a.tn.
Two year olds through sixth grade are
eligible.

Clean-up Week Begins
The city of Jacksboro, in cooperation with
the Chamber of Commerce, will sponsor a
city-wide clean-up week June 1-5, according
to City Secretary Neta Terrell.
City employees will carry off limbs, etc. free
of charge for all those who call City hall and
place their names on the list.
Terrell said the clean-up may take longer
than a week, but stressed those who call
during business hours June 1-5 would be
served.
Club to Meet June 3
The Halliburton Wives' Club will meet
Wednesday, June 3 from 11:00 a.m to 1:00
p.m. in The First National Bank Hospitality
Room for a regular luncheon meeting. Time
has been expanded to two hours for the
luncheons, held the first Wednesday of each
month.
A regular business meeting is scheduled at
7:30 p.m. June 18 in the Hospitality Room.
The club, which meets each first
Wednesday monthly from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00
p.m. and each third Thursday at 7:30 p.m., is
open to all wives of Halliburton Services
employees.
There is no charge for the meal, and plans
are expected to be finalized for an entry in the
rodeo parade.

King-Jameson
The King-Jameson reunion is planned
Sunday, June 7 in the National Guard
Armory, with friends and family invited.
Those attending should bring a basket lunch.
Lewis
The annual Lewis reunion will be Sunday,
June 7 in The Jacksboro National Bank
Community Room. Friends and family
members are invited and reminded to bring a
basket lunch.
Leatherwood
The decendents of the late Lenora and J.D.
"Jess" Leatherwood are invited to a reunion
in The Jacksboro National Bank Community
Room Saturday, June 20, beginning at 9:30
a.m.
A covered dish luncheon will be served.
Shields
The annual Shields family reunion will be
held Saturday, June 13 from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m.
in the National Guard Armory. All family
members are urged to attend, bring family
history, old photographs and scrapbooks,
and help compile a family history of the early#
days of the reunion.
There will be a short business session at
a covered-dish supper at 5:00 p.m.
