The annual meeting of the members of the Coleman County Telephone Cooperative, Inc.
will be held at the Santo Anna Football Stadium (in cose of bad weather, the High School
Auditorium) at Santo Anna, Texas, on Saturday, August 24, 1985 at 8:30 p.m. to take
action on the following matters, to-wit:

AFB, Abilene, Texas will once again
open its gates to the public at 10
a.m. (or tne annual AbUene Appre-
ciation Day open house August 24.
Admission and parking are free.
Highlighting this year’s Abilene
Appreciation Day will be the Air
Force Thunderbfrda aerial demon
stration team and the Army Golden
Knight* precision parachuting
team. Other activities scheduled
include static display aircraft, a
C-180 flight demonstration, military
working dog demonstrations, a
model aircraft flying demonstra-
Uon and a civilian aircraft fly-in.
The Air Force Thunderbirds,
“America's Ambassadors in Blue",
will streak through the skies over
Dyes* AFB beginning at 2 p.m.
During their performance, the
world-famous am-ial demonstration
squadron will spin, loop, roll and
dive through a spectacular series of
precision aerobatic maneuvers with
minimum wingtip clearance.
The Army Golden Knights, re-
cognised as the finest precision
paraehute team in the world, will
begin their performance at 1:80 p.m.
The team, specially selected air-
borne soldiers, has won six World
and 48 National Parachuting Cham-
pionship titles.
During Abilene Appreciation Day
there will also be more than a dozen
military aircraft on display, includ-
ing the 06th Bombardment Wing's
B-1B “Star of Abilene." Also, nearly
three dozen booths and displays, all
sponsored by base squadrons and
organizations, will sell many types
of refreshments and Air Force
related items. Several squadrons
will also sponsor displays of their
unit mission.
In conjunction with Abilene Ap-
preciation Day, the 96th BMW
Safety Division, along with the
Abilene Area Aviation Safety Com-
mittee will present the seventh
annual Pilot Safety Seminar and
civilian aircraft fly-in. More than 800
people in 100 civilian aircraft are
expected for this year's seminar,
according to Maj. Robert P. Davis,
96th BMW Safety Division.
Civilian aircraft are invited to fly
into Dyess AFB between 7:80 and
9:80 a.m. the morning of the open
house; the safety seminar begins at
10 a.m. in the base recreation
center. Buses will meet incoming
pilots at the flightline and transport
them to the seminar.

Scholarship
Becky Phillips of the First United
Methodist Church in Coleman,
Brownwood District, has been
awarded Central Texas Conference
United Methodist Merit Scholar-
ship. The scholarship is given each
year by the Conference Board of
Higher Education and Campus Min-
istry.
Becky is a lifetime member of the
United Methodist Church and has
been a member at Coleman for
seven years. She is active in the
choir, and UMYF. She is a member
of the Council on Ministries and the
Administrative Board and has been
active in teaching Vacation Church
School for many years.
At school, Becky has taken lead-
ership roles by participating in
debate, drama, Future Home-
makers of America, and has been
working on the school yearbook for
three years, serving her senior year
as an editor. She was a member of
the National Honor Society for two
years. She received C-awards for
English I, World History, Algebra
H, Chemistry, English IV, Health,
and Physics. She received National
Merit awards for Chemistry, Lead-
ership, Physics, Journalism, English
and Service. She was placed in
Who’s Who Among American High
School Students and Academic All-
American for two years. She receiv-
ed Who’s Who awards for Science
and English her senior year, and
wu the valedictorian.
In community service Becky has
worked as a volunteer on the Rehab
