REVIVAL CLOSED SUNDAY
Protracted Meeting at the Methodist
Church Resulted in Much Good.
After two weeks the protracted
meeting held at the college and
then moved to the Methodist church
closed Sunday night.
Rev. F. M. Neal did the preach-
ing. The preaching was simple
enough for the understanding of a Misses
child and foiceful and eloquent
enough for the most critical hearer,
just the gospel expounded as only
Rev. Neal can preach.
About one hundred and fifty were
reclaimed, and about the same num-
ber professed conversion, while
twenty surrendered to the ca 11 to
special Christian service.
The reception of members into
the Methodist church was the order
of the service Sunday and a large
class was received numbering 83.—
Clarendon News, Clarendon, Texas.
It will be remembered that Rev.
F. M Neal has been engaged to
conduct the Co-operative Meetings
here beginning Sunday, August 6th

Death of Hosea Hornbeak.
Hosea, the beloved son of Mr. and
Mrs. T. D. Hornbeak died at their
home on Belknap-st. July 26th at
3:30 A. M.
The whole town and community
are shadowed with gloom as the
earthly light of this bright young
life went out. A young man of
pure, true sterling worth, beloved
and resnected by all.
Two weeks ago last F’riday Hosea
came from the oil field in Old
Mexico, where he was employed
and the hearts of hi« family were
full of joy. They had been wild
with anxiety on account of his
safety in Mexico. He was not well
when he came and soon he was
taken with typhoid fever. All that
medical skill and loving hands
cmld do was given but God had need
of him and called him on. He was
so patient and resigned in his
suffering and was conscious almost
to the end. The hearts of the whole
community grieve with this worthy
family in their sorrow. How our
hearts ache for the dear father
alone in Mexico with his grief—
no word has been had from him
since Hosea’s coming and whether
he has had the sad news is unknown
Hosea would have soon been 28
years of age.
Present at his bedside were his
sister Mrs Lena Gregory and fam-
ily of near Cundiff. Miss Geno
Hornbeak of Post City, Mr. Clyde
Hornbeak of Galvetion, Miss Bulah,
Jewell and the dear mother of
Jacksboro. Another brother,
Albert and a sister, Mrs. Ham of
California were not here.
The body will be carried to the
family burying ground near Bryson
for interment Wednesday afternoon.
How hard to understand and yet
we know that in God’s providence
there are no mistakes and that over
all is his infinite mercy.
