afternoon, members of the Coleman
City Council awarded bid to Fred
Knowles on lease of the Landfill
Farm for $1251 for the year. Three
bids were submitted and the Know
les bid was high.
The Council acted to increase the
arson reward from the old $250
figure to $1,000.00. The increase
was requested by officers of the
Coleman Volunteer Fire Depart-
ment.
The Council approved zoning
change, from residential to busi-
ness, for property at 1200 Commer

Ben Cox. The property will be used
for a shaved ice business.
The Council received a petition
from Walter Wright requesting a
zoning change at 1401 N. Neches,
for use as a Halfway House. The
petition was determined to be valid
and hearing was set for October 4.
Yesterday afternoon the news-
paper was advised that the request
by Wright had been withdrawn
earlier in the afternoon, through
contact with the City Secretary.
Thus the hearing will be cancelled.
A report was received on the

rity-wide the problem is improved,
but in the high grass areas there is
still work to be done. The mosquito
