Intoxicated More Than Doubled This Year

Arrests of persons charged with

! months of 1967 as compared with
I last year in the Wichita area, High-

total of 232 arrests have been made
i as compared with 94 in the same
j area for the same period last year,
j Records of the Wichita Falls of-
, fice showed 133 of the 232 drivers
had no record of previous DWI con-
| victions, and such information
| could not be determined for 18. But
i the other 82 had a total of 153
, previous convictions with one of
; these having a record of 12, one
with 7, two with 5, three with 4.

der probation for misdemeanor
DWI at the time of another DWI
arrest.
One driver with 4 previous DWI
convictions was arrested for Felony
DWI, three occasions during the
five months, the last one being less
than a month after he was placed
on probation on the first of the

Funeral services for PFC Rufus
Ray, 24, were held at Antioch
Baptist Church here at 4 p. m. last
Thursday with interment at Oak-
wood Cemetery. Rev. Frank Over-
ton officiated and Hawkins Funeral
Home was in charge of arrange-
ments.
Ray was the first man entering
the service from Jack County to
become casualty in the Vietnam
conflict. He died of injuries receiv-
ed when a mine or booby trap ex-
ploded when his unit was clearing^
! an area. He was a member of
Cavalry (Air Mobile) Division.
