I am a former Graham cit-
izen. I now teach school in
Dallas, where 1 have been for
twenty years. I was formerly
a teacher in Young County
and also county superinten-
dent of schools there. I also
formerly was high school
principal and coach at Jer-
myn, when Jermyn was a good
little town with a nice high
school. I formerly taught with
O. B. Powell, at Forney, who
served a long time as super-

Rev. Clifford Gilleland left
Sunday for a Spiritual Re-
treat near Fresno, Calif,
Mrs. Gilleland and the
children accompanied him as
far as Winslow, Ariz. to
visit relatives.
Rev. Clark Triplett of St.
Louis, Mo., has been a
guest of Rev. Clifford Gille-
land and filled the pulpit at
First Baptist Church Sunday,

Brother in NY
Funeral services were held
at Woodhall, N. Y. Aug. 12
for FredE, McAvoy, 71, form-
er resident of Palo Pinto
County and a brother of Mrs.
Inez Newberry Fox of Jacks-
boro. He was a native of
Georgia.
Survivors include his
widow; four daughters, three
sons. 23 grandchildren, one
great grandchild; a brother
and five sisters.
