"FACTS"
The following are a number of practices which cause division among those who
hm 0beyed--Mark 18:16: A*18 2:38’ Rom- 6:17-18- claiming also they
are fulfilling Col. 3:17; I Pet. 4:11.
1. Wearing of names as a church or individually which the Bible does not substantiate
2. Observing the Lord's Supper on any day other than the first day of the week
3. The usage of plurality of cups and loaves for the Lord’s table.
4. Congregations refusing to fellowship one another because they may or may not use
the fermented juice of the grape on the Lord’s table.
5. The dividing of the assembly on the first day of the week into classes when th-v
come together for worship.
6. Permitting and encouraging women to speak in the assemblies.
7. Hiring or contracting men to do their pastoral work.
8. Passing judgement on the entire membership of a congregation because of the views
of a few,of the members even though their acts of worship are carried out scriptual'y.
9. It is an evident fact that divisions are caused over the above practices. Whether or
not they are justifiable for division would remain to be seen. Let all human reason
and logic be laid aside in the examination of these matters. To the law and to the
testimony let us go to obtain unity. Isa. 8:20.

TODAY’S
WORLD
GARY MONTGOMERY
It must be true that many of use are still “looking for that
pot of gold at the end of our rainbow.” At least, most folks
act like they’re hurrying along the way in life to And it.
Young or old, it makes no difference. Maybe that’s why
Hugh Prather said, “The rainbow is more beautiful than
the pot at the end of it, because the rainbow is now. And
the pot never turns out the be quite what I expected...” And,
you and I with a few years behind us of this hustle and bus-
tle we call living can certainly “amen” Prather’s remark.
Trouble is, it takes a Jot of years of living to finally discover
the beauty of that rainbow which may have been shining
for years in our lives.
Rainbows or dreams or hopes or things. Call it what you
will. Man’s world is filled with such pictures. We began as
children trying to imagine what “growing up” would be like.
But when we finally, through years of growing and work-
ing and waiting, arrived there...it was not good at all. The
“pot of gold” was still very empty and ehat we found seemed
to never make us^jiappy.
Now, when you think in terms of God’s message of life,
the story is told over and over. What more could a King
want than Solomon possessed? Ecclesiastes 2 tells his words
as the King says, “I denied myself nothing my eyes desired;
I refuse my heart no pleasure. My heart took delight in all
my work, and this was the reward for all my labor...”
Yes, King Solomon had everything that we often today
believe will bring happiness. But it was not really there at
aH. The Bible tells us again what he discovered as the King
explains, “Yet when I surveyed all that my hands had done
and what I had toiled to achieve, everyhting was meaning-
less, a chasing after the wind; nothing was gained under the
sun.” Perhaps our troubles and tough times of life come
to us because of what we are really trying to achieve.
The secret of that happiness is to discover the “rainbows”
in every single day, and share the beauty that it brings to
your life with others.
