business. Mayor L. S. Howard

ter.

Flowers, prominent ginner
and land owner, was driving
alone in his automobile when
the crash occurred three miles
south of Waco on F. S. Highway
SI. He was known as the oldest
gin operator in Texas.
Simpson, a farmer and cattle
man, was driving a pick-up
truck. A passenger. I. It. Smith,
72, of Valley Mills, received a
broken leg anil head injuries.

Haskell Accident
Takes One Life
HASKELL, Dec. 0 (UP)—Two
autos smashed head-on south of
here on l'. S. Highway 277 yes-
terday, killing one man and in-
juring five other persons serious-
ly-
Dead was Arthur R. Gray,
about 57, Wichita Falls. He was
riding in an auto driven by Joe
Burnett, 27. Kermit, who was
hospitalized in critical condition.
Occupants of the other car, all
seriously injured, were Mrs.
Marie Thompson of Abilene;
Tommy Hall, Lloyd Wayne New,
and the driver, 25-year-old Wil-
lie A. Brusebow. all of Haskell.
