the birth of their daughter, Alexis
Lynn Lanman, bom on Aug. 8,
1994 at 5:46 p.m. She weighed
seven pounds and twelve ounces
and was 20 inches long.
Proud grandparents are Bill and
Carina Lanman of Wylie, and
Clarence and Donna Lee of Wylie.

birth of their daughter Marrissa
Katherine bom on Aug. 16, 1994, at
Physician Regional Hospital. She
weighed seven pounds, seven
ounces and was 19 1/2” long. Proud

Dean and Brenda Beaster of San
Diego are proud to announce the birth
of their daughter, Jacklyn Maureen,
on Aug. 17, 1994 at Mesquite
Community Hospital. She weighed
six pounds, 13 ounces and was 18
inches long.
Grandparents are Micky and
Maureen Green of Rockwall and
Ralph and Joyce Beaster of Wylie.

Miller would like to announce the
birth of their daughter Brooke
Michelle on Aug. 11, 1994. She
weighed eight pounds, six ounces and
21 inches long.

Geyer, bom Aug. 23, 1994 at HCA
Medical Center of Plano. Erienne
weighed seven pounds, eight and one
half ounces and was 20 1/2 inches
long.
Proud grandparents are Alice and
Duane Ilelmberger and Carol and
Bryant Barry of Wylie.

sister, Alicia, and brother, Bryce.

come to help so the roof could be fin-
ished in one day.”
This is just a brief sampling of the
many trials and privations endured by
the brave pioneers who developed this
now prosperous sector of North Texas.
I wonder how many of us could
have survived under such conditions.

prayers given since our recent acci-
dent. We didn’t realize we had so
many friends until now. A special
thank you to all the churches for
their prayers and Scott Brown for
being with us at the hospital.

Obituaries
Dessie Mae Allen
Funeral services were held for
Dessie Mae Allen, age 86, of
Garland on Wednesday, Aug. 24,
1994 at Allen’s Chapel in Wylie.
Officiating minister was David
Davey. Mrs. Allen passed away on
Monday, Aug. 22,1994.
She was the daughter of Thomas
J. and Luella (Collins) Bozeman
bom April 13. 1908 in Wylie. She
married George F. Allen who pre-
ceded her in death. She was a mem-
ber of the Saturn Road Church of
Christ and an employee in sales for
Sears, Roebuck and Company,
Survivors include: son, Tommy
George Allen of Garland; sisters,
Merle Stirling of Paso Robles,
California and Delphine Allen of
Dallas; three grandchildren and
nine great granchildren.
Burial was in Restland Memorial
Park in Dallas. Allen Funeral Home
was in charge of arrangements.
Calista Augusta
Chittenden
Graveside services were held for
Calista Augusta Chittenden, 84, of
Wylie on Monday, Aug. 29, 1994,
10 a.m. Rev. Denny Smith officiat-
ed.
Mrs. Chittenden passed away on
Tuesday, Aug. 23, 1994. She was
the daughter of John C. and Luella
(McConkie) Long, bom Feb. 10,
1910 in Stanwood, Iowa. She was a
teacher for the Iowa Independent
School District and a member of the
Faith Missionary Baptist Church in
Concord, California.
Survivors include: sons. Jon
Craig Chittenden of Bradenton,
Florida and I,arry IX' Chittenden of
Palm Springs, California; daughter,
Nancy Kaye Mitchell of La von; sis-
ter, Mildred Hetzel of Ames, Iowa;
six grandchildren and four great
grandchildren.
Burial was in the Wylie
Cemetery with arrangements under
the direction of Allen Funeral
Home.
