JEHUDA ABRAHAM
DALLAS DOINGS
Hats off to Lila (Mrs. Leonard) Katz, who has taken on a
tremendous project for the spring and summer. She has been
chosen director of the Day Camp for Girl Scouts in the Royal
Sills District of Dallas, Tejas Council. Mrs. Katz is busy
"ading volunteers to train for the six-day (June 23-28) camp
and planning activities for the estimated 500-600 girls who will
attend. A Girl Scout leader herself, she’s very enthusiastic
about the opportunities this camp will provide at a very
reasonable cost for the girls who attend, including cookouts,
hikes, wading, arts and crafts, nature work and one overnight
campout. Brownies, Cadets and Girl Scouts will all partake.
£>od luck to Mrs. Katz and her dedicated staff.

moved her that, on her return

contributed to the Federation

led to the organization of a
similar group of single young

City Councilwoman
Adelene Harrison received
the Public Citizen of the Year
award from the Dallas Chap-
ter, National Association of
Social Workers at a dinner
and reception held at the
Hyatt House last week.
Presentation of awards that
evening was made by Mayor
Wes Wise. According to
Robert Stewart, chapter
president, Mrs. Harrison,
perhaps the first public
official to receive the citizen
award, has shown consistent
service to the people of the
community.
