JDC Operations in
Poland to End Dec. 31
TEL AVIV (JTA) — Louis
Broido, of New York, chairman
of the American Jewish Joint Dis-
tribution Committee, announced
here that JDC activities would be
halted in Poland next December
31, at the request of the Polish
Government.
The JDC was invited to begin
a program of aid to Polish Jews
about 10 years ago by the Polish
Government. After the mysterious
death in Prague last month of
Charles H. Jordan, JDC executive
vice-chairman, the Polish Govern-
ment notified the JDC that Polish
Jewry did not need further aid.
