Choya Andres And Marguerite And Mose Marks
Recognized For Contributions To Community
Over 200 people gathered
at Golden Acres on Sunday,
December 5, to pay tribute
to three members of the
Dallas community who have
made outstanding contribu-
tions to the continuity of
Jewish life and culture. The
Dallas Chapter, American
Jewish Congress, and Gold-
en Acres selected Chaya
Rachel Andres, Marguerite
and Mose Marks as this
year’s award winners.
The afternoon program
was moderated by Bob Beer,
past president of the A JCon-
gress. Mary Jo Pompeo,
administrator of Golden
Acres, brought regards from
the Home and expressed
delight in being able to
co-sponsor this meaningful
event. Dottie Mandell, chair-
person of the A JCongress
Commission on Jewish Life
and Culture, read a selection
of poems written by the
honorees. According to Mrs.
Mandell, the contribution
made by these individuals
will “help insure our Jewish
survival. As we read their
poetry, we are reminded of
our cultural heritage and so
will be the generations that
will follow us.” Rabbi Gerald
Klein presented plaques to
the honorees and spoke of
their outstanding contribu-
