BALLINGER- The Ball-
inger Police Department
is investigating a man
who has been arrested
under charges of aggra-
vated sexual assault of a
child. Nicoli Xavier Gray,
23-years-of-age, was
taken to the Runnels
County Jailhouse where
as of press time remains

bond.
According to the
investigation the victim,
a 9-year-old female,
was assaulted several
times during an eight-
month span. Authorities
first heard of the case
months ago, when the
victim made an outcry,
but no evidence of the
assault was found at the
time.
According to Ballinger
Chief of Police Mark
McNulty the case was
first reported to Child
Protective Services.
Gray, who was in a
relationship with the
mother of the victim,
recently moved to Grape
Creek, Texas where he
was arrested on Mon-
day, March 10. He was
taken to the Runnels
County Jail on Tuesday,
March 11.
Recently the mother
of the victim made the
report to the Ballinger
Police Department, and
an interview was con-
ducted on Friday, March
7, at the Child Advocacy
Center in San Angelo.
Gray was arrested on
a warrant for sexual
assault of a child, issued
by Runnels County Jus-
tice of the Peace Glenda
