Vial Of Life
You’re alone and ill, with
just enough strength to call
for emergency help. By the
time the paramedics arrive,
you’re unconscious. But
what do the paramedics
really know about you?
Is there anyone at the
scene who can tell them who
you are, if you’re allergic to
penicillin or other drugs,
what medicines you’re tak-
ing, if you’re a diabetic or
have heart disease, who your
doctor is or how to locate
your family?
When you are unable to
answer these questions, the
Vial of Life can.
The Vial of Life is a stan-
dard plastic bottle, the kind
used for prescription pills,
with a sheet of paper rolled
inside containing informa-
tion about your medicines, a

formation sheet should be
filled out in pencil so the
facts can be easily updated.
The bottle should be attach-
ed with tape or a rubber
band to a shelf in the
refrigerator or in the
refrigerator door.
The key to the project is a
bold orange and black
sticker to put on the
refrigerator door above the
handle to attract the atten-

anyone giving emergency
aid to the unconscious per-
son.
Johnson County Memorial
Hospital is sponsoring the
Vial of Life project in
Johnson County. The
hospital will be distributing
the bottles, stickers and in-
formation sheets thru in-
dustries, civic clubs, senior
citizens clubs, banks and any
other groups that would be
interested in helping. The
Vial of Life is a free public
service being offered by
Johnson County Memorial
Hospital, 1600 N. Main,
Cleburne.
Any one or any group in-
terested in helping to
distribute the Vial of Life
should contact the office of
the Administrator, 645-9181,
extension 113.
Johnson County Memorial
Hospital will be sending an
ambulance and a team of
Paramedics to all of the
towns in the county. These
people will be taking blood
pressures free of charge and
will be explaining the am-
bulance equipment. They
will have some of the Vial of
Life containers to give out
also. Copies of the new
hospital brochure will be
available.
This is being done to make
the people of Johnson County
more aware of some ser-
vices available to them
