IT’S
YOUR
MONEY
By BRUCE RASCO. CPA
WHEN A WIFE WORKS
Once upon a time the husband went otf to work and made
money and the wife stayed home to keep house Paydays, he
gave her an allowance to run the household and he managed
the rest
Umes have changed Today more than 2 3 MIL LION wives are
working outside the home The added income is welcome The
new complications are not
It is imperative that a couple sit down and figure out |ust what a
wife s |Ob entails in terms of extra income and extra expenses
Federal and state taxes and Social Security contributions are
subtracted before the paycheck even comes home (Remem
ber the added income may bump the i nuple up to a higher
bracket ) Before this can be considered NET income though
the working wife should subtract the cost ot transportation to the
lob lunches out and extra clothing Child care and household
help may have to be included Does the family eat out more9
Where does the money go9 There s no question that inflation
has eaten up some ot the added income the working wife brings
home E xperts suggest that the (amity set definite goals ot what
they hope to gam with the second income rather than let it be
absorbed by routine spending and more debts Some lavonte
goals are longer vac ations financial growth a new car and
education
Different families have different methods of dividing up the in
come and the bills Some pool all their resources and pay bills
trom one account Others set up a |Oint ai count tor then house
hold expenses and separate ones for personal pleasures There
is no one right method you must choose what will work tor you

Postal
opening
planned
The new Burleson post
office, which has had a
month-long delay in its
grand opening due to a bad
case of ’’popping tiles,”
may finally open for bus-
iness in a couple of weeks
The floor of the new
facility and the rest of the
interior was inspected this
morning (Thursday) and
if approved the new post
office on Johnson Avenue
should be ready to open its
doors in early June
The grand opening had
been scheduled for April
26, then pushed back to
May 3, and finally post
poned indefinitely because
floor tiles had expanded
and pushed up
Tt was a big mess,”
Postmaster B N Johnson
commented
The new facility will be
over three times as large
as the old post office on the
corner of W Renfro and S.
W Johnson which was
built in 1964
Chimp lived to 50
Chimpanzees generally
live 35 to 40 years, with the
females generally out liv-

TO HEAVEN PLEASE HEAR MY PRAYER
When it’s all too hard for me to accept, dear God,
When I have to ask you why
It just doesn’t seem to be fair, oh Lord
Why do I have to cry?
I want him to stay close to me
I want him to be near;
I just don’t understand it,
He’s so precious and so dear.
He raised me, loved me, cared for me so much,
I worship the ground he walks on
I treasure his every touch.
I can’t bear to see him suffer;
I want him to know no pain
Lord take care of him and bless his heart
Please relieve his strain.
There never was or is a man so full of faith,
Love and kindness as he.
Lord let this "angel” stay on earth
Where he’s supposed to be.
Lord, You are divine and we accept your plan,
And what’s to come will be Your will
I just hope you hear our pleas—dear Lord and
Our prayers You will fulfill.
In Jesus Christ’s Name,
Amen!
