Making Mams
A* 7i
Project is growing
B\ KFVIN JONHS
Burleson High Special Education
teacher Lynn Dufva thinks her students
project to make mums for sale to girls
for homecoming is a profitable one. but
not )ust because it makes money
Even if »r didn't make any money,
it would be worth it," she said "It
brings the other students in here who
would ordinarily never come by M\
students get to meet them and make
friends And they get to see what my
students can do That contact is one of
the biggest things going for it
The project has grown from the first
year, in which only 10 were sold, to this
year in which nearly 100 mums, at
prices ranging from $10 to $15, will be
sold
I’HOCEEI)S FKOM THE PROJECT
have been used to pay for a dinner at
Calamity's restaurant, take a trip to
Crystal s and buy a refrigerator for the
room
More silk flowers are being bought
this year, chiefly because they outlast
live blooms, she stud There may be a
let down w hen the project is completed
"The kids get pretty excited about mak
mg and selling the flowers," the pretty
young teacher admitted, "It may be
pretty dull getting back to regular class
on Monday
The Burleson High Special Education students form a production line to turn out
mums and decorations during the three weeks prior to homecoming. The proceeds
are used to finance trips and purchase such things as a refrigerator for the
classroom

BURLESON VOTERS
My name is Charlotte E
Rushing, I am a widow I have
served as your Justice of the
Peace for the past four years
I would deeply appreciate
your consideration to elect me
once again into office for
another term as a write-in can-
didate for Justice of the Peace,
Precinct 2.
I would also like to add that I truly admire the two men runn-
ing against me for the job that pays $550 per month
Should you decide to keep me as your Justice of the Peace
for another four-year term, it is imperative that my name be
written on the ballot as "Charlotte E. Rushing," otherwise the
vote will not be counted •
yii
I sincerely appreciate your help and kindness in the past four
years.
God bless you, and thank you.
