lar meetings and sponsored two pro-
grams.
They raised $31.46 for equipment
and linoleum for their lunch room.
They provided hot lunches for pupils
throughout the school j<ai.
They canned for their lunch room
50 cans of tomatoes, 26 quarts of tig
preserves, 32 pints of jelly, 36 cans
of beans, 18 quarts of dewberries,
01 cans of peaches, 3 cans of pine-
apple, 16 quarts of pickles, 20 quarts
of apples and 10 bottles catsup. That
is a very fine record in canning. The
parents have meetings during the
canning season niul canned food for
the hot lunches.

month of (lie school year.
Tlie gave one dance, sold refresh-
ments and cleared $20.00. They have
had- some special programs for the
year. They had a Thanksgiving sup-
per, a Christmas program and a fare-
well for Mr. and Mrs. Barnes, an Eas-
ter egg hunt and a barbecue for the
close of school.
They are planning on social meet-
ings for each month during the sum-
mer.

A United States Recruiting Station
is now opened at the Post Office Build-
ing in .Victoria. The Marine Corps
is now accepting men between the
ages of 17 and 25 years. Men with
high qunlizcations wilt be accepted
up to tlie age of thirty^ The term of
enlistment in the Marine Corps is
now two,three or four years. Men
enlisting in the Marine Corps will get
the full benefit of the G. I. Bill of
Rights. Tliii will benefit the man
who ‘wants to continue his schooling
in any recognized college or voca-
tional school. While in the Marine
Corps a young man can serve in all
parts of the world.
A representative of the Marine
Corps will visit Edna at the Post
Office from 10 a. m. until 2 p. in.
