Michael Joseph Cook
Rodgers—Porter exchange
vows in double ring ceremony
The First Baptist Church in
Joshua was the setting of the Aug. 3,
1991, ceremony at 7 p.m. uniting
Lorie Lynn Rodgers of Joshua and
Bryan Keith Porter of Burleson in
marriage. Dr. David V. Hampton
presided over the double ring serv-
ice.
The bride, given in marriage by
her father, wore a designer gown of
white taffeta featuring a Sabrina
neckline and a basque waistline, with
Alencon lace accenting the sheer net
yoke and bodice. It was encrusted
with tiny seed pearls and irridescent
sequins. The gown was enhanced by
leg-of-mutton sleeves and accented
with taffeta rosettes. A gently flow-
ing skirt fell from the fitted bodice
and deep v-back into a cathedral
length train encircled with Alencon
lace. The train also featured window-
pane inserts of beaded illusion and
lace.
The bride's tiera style headpiece
was covered with lace and pearls,
with a double pouff of net which fell
into a cathedral length veil outlined
with tiny pearls.
Her something old was a hand-
kerchief, woven into her bouquet,
which was made for her by her great-
grandmother; something new, her
pearl and diamond earrings, which
were a wedding gift from the groom;
something borrowed was a pearl ring
from her mother; and something blue
was her garter and a sixpence in her
shoe.
The bride carried a bouquet of
fresh white roses, lilies, stephanotis,
with garlands of English ivy, ac-
cented with ferns.
The bridal attendants were at-
tired in identical ankle-length suits of
amethyst moriefaille which featured
a portrait neckline accented with a
box bow at the waist. Pearl accesso-
ries completed the ensemble. Each
attendant carried a free form bouquet
of miniature lavender roses, pink
alstromeria lilies, baby's breath, and
purple poms wrapped in ivory rib-
bon.

and purple carnations, stock, and
baby's breath. The round guest tables
were decorated with mirrors, candles,

The bride's five-tiered basket
weave cake was decorated with fresh
