regular monthly and social meet-

Music Club Meet
In Dameron Home
The Music Study Club met Tues-
day evening, January 24 in the
hospitable home of Mrs. J. H.
Dameron for a program of music
by Bath. Mr*: Charles Douglas,
President; presided, Lee
EUzey, the program leader, told
of the world In which Bach lived.
John Sebastian Bach was born
In Germany in 1685 and was left
an orphan at the age of nine. Bach
continued, his study of music and
became a composer, an organist
arid a teacher. As there were no
. pianos Bach played the clavichord
and the harpsichord too.
Mrs, C. J. Gerlach, Jr. "gave
some idea of the sort of man Bach
was. Mrs. Gerlach tolji some in-
teresting facts about Bach's per-
sonality, how he livej, Jnd man-
aged his affairs. Bach died in 1750
but his music hag made him the
"Master of the Masters” and today
Bach is considered the greatest
musician1 the world has produced.

in LcMrecht played a Bach Pre-
lude and "I Call to Thee, Lord
Jeguf Christ” - and “Berceuse” by
a French composer.
At fhe conclusion of the program
Mr*. Dameron served refreshments
of punch and cookies to'members
and their guests. She was assisted
bv Mesdame* Dabney, Jr. and
Wilils, and Miss Francie Dameron,,
