Finstad opens campaign headquarters in Cleburne
Democratic State House candidate
Geneva Finstad recently opened her
campaign headquarter in Cleburne,
promising to always offer an open
door to the people of Johnson, Bosque
and Somervell counties.
"This is much more than an open
house for our campaign headquar-
ters," Finstad said during an after-
noon reception. "This is the begin-
ning of a long-term contract with the
people of Johnson County and the
entire 58th District.
"Representative government is
effective only if the people have
direct access to their elected offi-
cials. I intend to make sure 1 am
always available to hear their con-
cerns. We literally opened the door
to my first office. Symbolically,
that door will never close," Finstad
said.
Finstad's headquarters are located
at 908 West Henderson in Cleburne.
She said she is extremely pleased
with the location.
"From the outset, I said this was
going to be a highly visible, first-
class campaign. These headquarters
are both highly visible and first class.
They suit this campaign perfectly."
She encouraged Johnson county
residents to come by the headquar-
ters and talk with her about the
campaign and their ideas about Texas'
future.
"We're going to be talking about a
lot of issues in this campaign that are
important to the people of this dis-
trict: jobs and the economy, crime
and drugs, education,-agriculture,
and rural health care. "A lot of
candidates think the best way to
communicate these ideas to voters is
to btiy a 30-second ad, then take a
poll to see what you think.
I'll probably have to run some ads
too, but I'd rather communicate my
ideas to the people of Johnson County
the old-fashioned way. I'd like
everyone to come in to discuss issues
in a personal setting. I'll tell you
what I think we need to do and you
can tell me right here, on the spot, if
you think I'm right.
Finstad said she intends to extend
the same communications strategy to
the people of Bosque and Somervell
counties as well.
"I wish I could have campaign
offices in every community in this
district," she said. But, just because
ther won't be an office doesn't mean
I won't be there. I promised from
the beginning that I would travel this
district tirelessly.
"Everyone who wants to share with
me their ideas for this state's future
will have a chance during the course
of this campaign.

OCD - OBSESSIVE COMPULSIVE DISORDER
What are some of the symptoms of this disorder?
1) Constant worrying, like playing a record over and
over in your mind, often about minor or
senseless things.
2) Attempts to shut off these repetitive concerns are
incompletely successful.
3) Strong urges are present to perform certain tasks
over and over again, like repeatedly checking
to see if the door is locked or shut.
4) This repeated behavior as well as the repetitious
thoughts are recognized as excessive and unreasonable,
but still are very time consuming and interfere with
normal daily functioning.

Standing Up For Texas Children
Today less than one-third of child support
owed is actually paid. Thousands of cases are
stalled in the courts.
That’s a disgrace. Unpaid child support is the
number-one cause of child poverty in Texas.
As a freshman state senator, Chris Harris
passed seven bills to improve child support
payments and locate nonpaying parents. Chris’
legislation brought an extra $29 million federal
dollars to strengthen Texas’ child support efforts.
That’s how basic reform protects Texas
children.
