Volunteers needed for Hospice
Harris Home Health Services will
soon offer hospice care in addition to
irvices that they now provide to the
Burleson area. Hospice care is for
terminally ill patients who wish to
remain home during the final stages
of their illness. Directed by the
patient's physician, we not only pro-
vide pain management and symptom
control, we offer emotional, spiri-
tual and practical support to our
patients and their families. We are
currently seeking volunteers to help
us provide this kind of care to their
neighbors in the Burleson area. Vol-
unteers are needed to help with pro-
viding practical and emotional sup-
port to these families. Running er-
rands, shopping; housework or pro-
viding a friendly visit are just a few
of the ways you can help. Behind the
scenes office help is also greatly
needed. Orientation and training is
provided to those applicants accepted
into the program. If you are inter-
ested in becoming a Harris Hospice
volunteer or would like more infor-
mation about our hospice program
please call Lezley Prahl at Harris
Hospice (817) 878-5020 in Fort
Worth.
