The appeal for contributions
to the 50th Anniversary Edi
tion of the Tribune met with
generous response from people in
all sections of the Bartlett area
but what we have received is
only a start We want this issue
to contain a complete history of
this section durinor the nast
fifty years and we know there
are hundreds and hundreds or
old documents clippings legends
and stories yet available about
our people and things that have
happened here that are known
to only a few. Most of these
make excellent reading and are
part and parcel of the history of
Bartlett; We would like very
much to carry a family history
Of all the old families and where
available we will carry pictures
of distinguished citizens places
and buildings if the families or
owners of buildings will bear the
small cost of having electrotypes
px'oduced for printing.
Every effort will be made to
make this 60th Anniversary Edi-
tion a worthy chronicle of the
vnts. of the last hajf century!
and a treasured document that
will servo as a reference for fu-
ture generations. We want to
include everything of importance
that has taken' place in the past
as well as a comprehensive re-
view of what we have in Bart-
lett -and the community round
about today. We are all proud of
our finq old community and if

D.B. Wood Speaks
For Sam Stone At
Liberty Hill
Liberty Hill April .2 D. B.
Wood former Williamson Coun-
ty District Attorney spoke nere
Saturday afternon to a large
crowd of local citizens in behalf
of Sam V. Stone candidate for
Congress. Mr. Wood stressed the
qualifications of Mr. Stone and
said "In my judgment any man
who would aspire to public of
fice should be first honest
second foe should have" the de-
sire to serve his fellow man and
third he should be capable."
Then Mr. Wood said "Mr. Stone
served this county for twelve
years as our tax collector and is
now serving his second term as
county judge' and no one has
ever heard a dishonest thine
about him. xou all know Sam's
record for efficiency and his vol-
untary and untiring efforts in
every worthy movement in Wil-
liamson county during the past
thirty years thus we know he
has that desire to serve. No one
knows his ability better than I
for as your district attorney for
the past eight years I have been
closely associated with him. Dur-
ing a part of which time I oct
cupied an adjoining office to his.
ana nau an opportunity to ob-
serve him at work every day. I
discussed many matters with
him. Frankly I know of no pn'e
more capable to serve us in Con-
gress than Sam Stone. He knows
the problems and needs -of this
district and possessing the de-
sire to be of service to his coun-
try and fellow man I .believe he
will make us; a. great Congress-
man." Mr. Wood furthers recited
some of Mr. Stone's accomplish-
ments and stated that he was a
man of firm convictions and hich
principles and called on the
voters to turn out in large num-
bers on April 10th for him.
