PROGRAM IN PROGRESS
WITH LARGE ATIENDANCE
This is Future Farmers’ Day
in Timpson.
The occasion is the Area VII
FjF.A. Invitation Training
Program, and Rushing Mann-
ing, Vocational Agricultre
teacher of Timpson - High
School, stated early this morn-
ing that he expected registra-
tion to be approximately 700.
Registration began at 9 o’clock
this morning.
Eight counties and thirty-six
departments of Vocational Ag-
riculture will participate in
the program which began at
10:30 o’clock this morning at
the high school building. Eight
counties as follows are repre-
sented in the area: Angelina,
Cherokee, Panola, Nacogdo-
ches, Rusk, San Augustine,
Sabine and Shelby .
The Shelby County. Chapter
Future Fanners of America is
host to the convention. The
program is designed to encour-
age and build up leadership
among future fanners. There

speaking, chapter conducting
and farm skill demonstrations.
All State officers of the Tex-
as F. F. A. Association are
present, and the president,
Keesey Kimball of Alpine, will
address the gathering at 7:30
o’clock thia'evening.
At six o’clock this evening
the large number of guests will
be honored by citizens of
Timpson and the Shelby Coun-
ty F.F.A. Chapter with a bar-
becue in Memorial Park.
Following the closing cere-
mony at 8:30 p. m., there will
be a F.F.A. social in the high
school gymnasium under direc-

Keesey Kimble, State Presi-
dent of. the Texas Future
Farmers of America, from Al-
pine, Texas, will address the
F.F.A. convention, being held
in Timpson today.
Keesey is a Lone Star Farm-
er from the Alpine Chapter,
and a breeder of Registered
Hereford cattle.- He went to
the National Convention F.FJL
in 1944 as an official delegate.
He has recently been tour-
ing the state visiting chapters
and assisting the various chap-
ters in their program of work.
