ADDRESSES TEXAS
FRATERNAL CONGRESS
Dallas, Tex., Nov. 15.—
“There is a distinct relation-
ship between frateraaiisra and
good citizenship,” Dora Alex-
anderjalley, of Omaha, Nebr.,
national president of the
Woodmen Circle, declared
Tuesday afternoon in a radio
address. Mrs. Talley, who
spoke over station KKLD at
Dallas and a regional hookup
of Texas and Southern Okla-
homa stations, heads one of
the largest and most influen-
tial women’s groups in the
world. She is fa Dallas for
the Texas fraternal congress.
"It is a fine thing for any
state when a group of frater-
naiists get together,” Mrs.
Talley continued. “The goal
of fraternalism is human serv-
ice and the fraternal societies
of Texas are leaders in service
of mankind. Fraternal organ-
izations not only provide pro-
tection through life insurance
but render service to the com-
munity through the character
building, relief and welfare
work done by their local
Units,’’ Mrs. Talley said.
“I think ail must concede,"
she concluded, “that the Fra-
' ernal benefit society is one of
the greatest forces for human
welfare in the world.”

“THE LEADING DRUGGIST”
fixtures, which were instal
last week by S. N. Pineham.
The fixtures themselves are
very beautiful and they give
to the church a much more
beautiful light. We are very
grateful for the friendship
shown to our church by these
and so many other friends.
The crowd of hunters who
went to the big thicket last
week returned Friday and re-
port the very beat, most en-
joyable time they have ever
had. Several years ago they
established for themselves the
name of "Cat Congress.” ,Af-
ter this year’s hunt they have
acquired a new name—“the
biggest good crowd I ever
saw”—from one of their own
number who has hunted with
them for a number of years.
The crowd gets a rising vote of
thanks from Caledonia church
this year for a handsome dona-
tion brought back from a col-
lection taken while they were
away.
Mrs. Grady Stone, who had
a major operation at Johnson
hospital last week, is improv-
ing nicely and hopes to be able
to come home within a fetv
days. We rejoice with her in
her prospect for returning
good health, after a number of
years of illness.
Mrs. A. C. Vinson and Mrs.
G. B. Sanford, with Mrs. W. E.
Neal of Timpson, spent Sunday
afternoon in Mansfield, la.
Clemons Ash of the OCC at
Jacksonville spent the week-
end with his parents.
A wind of rather severe pro-
portions hit Caledonia and the
surrounding territory Sunday
afternoon. Several trees, barns
and roofs of outhouses were
torn away, but we have heard
no reports of damages to cat-
tle.
