CCMC Health Fair •* May 12
Hie annual Comanche County Medical Center and
CCCHD Community Health Fair will be held from 7 am to
2 pm today.
Booths will open at 8 am, and free tours of the center
will be offered
Free testing will be offered for lipid panels, blood
pressure/pulse OX and fitness. (For best results, patients
shouldn't eat anything after 10 pm the night before.)
Giveaway will include memberships to wellness centers,
bone density testing, vendor giveaways and ultrasound
testing.
A lunch fundraiser will also be held from 11 a.m. to
benefit CCMC families in need. Visitors will have choice of
hamburger or sausage (hot dog) for $6 per person.
CCMC is located at 10201 Hwy 16 North in Comanche.
5th grade presents Annie Jr.
Dublin Intermediate School’s 5th grade class presents
the 5th Annual Annie Jr. May 19-20, 2011 at 6:30 p.m. in
the Dublin Intermediate School Cafetorium. Doors open at
6 p.m. Tickets are $2 per person. Drinks will be available
for $ 1 each from 6-6:30 p.m.

Stephenville Poet Office collecting for charity
As Stephenville post office mail carriers make the rounds
on Saturday, they will be collecting rum-perishable food
items for donation to various non-profit organizations like
The Food Pantry and R0.PE. Inc.
The annual food drive has reportedly been going since
the mid ‘90s and the post office collected around 4,000 lbs.
of food last year.
A bin will also be set up in the lobby Friday and Saturday
for people to drop off their donations.
Free physicals for athletes
Free physicals will be offered Monday evening, May 23
beginning a 6 p.m at Dublin High School.
Incoming 7th, 9th and 11th grade athletes will have to
have physicals prior to participation in athletics in the fall.
FFA to hold awards banquet
The Dublin FFA will hold their annual chapter awards
banquet on Tuesday, May 17 at 7 p.m in the Dublin High
School Cafeteria.
Love Basket expands hours
The Love Basket that provides food for those who are in
need has expanded their hours for food distribution.
Location is the storage buildings on East Elm.
Food can be obtained from 9-11 am on Friday and again
that evening from 6-8 p.m.
Anyone wanting to contribute food can contact Ray &
Barbara Sissom or bring it by Ihe Love Basket on Fridays.

fruit baskets and took to
Golden Age Nursing Home
and Three Oaks. The Dublin
Garden Club went on a trip
to Sun City. There were 5
that went, Janie I.aquey,
Katherine Prater, Patsy
Tidwell, Carla Stevens, and
Neva Smith.
We met Sue Davison and
went on a tour of 8 flower
garden tour. They were all
beautiful. After the tours we
went to Bill and Sue
Davison’s home for dessert
and then to see Sue and
Bills daughters new home.

He was bom on Dec. 22,
1928, in Westbrook, TX to
Robert E and Mary (Harman)
Basham.
On March 9,1947, he was
united in marriage to Billie
Jean Dorn in Colorado City,
TX.
He is survived by his wife;
son, Jim Bob Basham of
Dublin; two granddaughters
and twogreat-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death
by son, Donnie Basham.

She is survived by three

Rust, both of Comanche;
sisters, Shirley Wells of Pace,
Fla., Robby McGee and Linda

grandchildren and three
great-grandchildren, Wesley

of Hico died Tuesday, May
10,2011 at Harris Methodist
Hospital in Stephenville.
She was bom on July 29,
1932 in Electra, IX to
Andrew Curtis and Berta
(Hilbum) Stone.
In life, Busbee worked as a
meatmarket packer.
She was preceded in death
by two children, Stephen
Bourland and Debra Evans,
her husband, a brother and
a sister.
She Is survived by a son,
Danny Dale Bourland of
Lewisville; a daughter,
Melinda Bourland; a sister,
Beverly Bradley and five
grandchildren.
Graveside services are
Friday, May 13 at Lanham
Mills Cemetery in Glen Rose,
Werth Mayes officiating.

Center. We have pot-luck
lunch each Wednesday
starting at 11:30 am Come
and join us for some really
good food. There Ls always
something different. See you

LaMay has the chair exercise
every Monday, Tuesday,
Thursday, and Friday at 9:30
am Come and join die ladies
and have a great time
exercising.
We have the Friday night
Jamboree this Friday night
starting at 7 pm We will have
some good toe tapping music
for you to er\joy.
Ruth Marsh will host our
third Monday red hat lunch.
Come and join in on the fun
There are prizes to be won
and lots of laughing going on
Ruth just does a wonderful
time for the ladies. Our Susie
King will be serving cucumber
sandwiches, with fresh veggie
sticks, and ambrosia dessert.

prices in Texas have fallen 1.5
cents per gallon in the past
week, averaging $3.82/g
yesterday. This compares
with the national average that
has fallen 0.8 cents per gallon
in the last week to $3.93/g,
according to gasoline price

Including the change in gas
prices in Texas during the
past week, prices yesterday
