Rotary Club to buy school supplies
At the weekly meeting of the Dublin Rotary Club held at the
Chuckwagon Restaurant, Rotary Club President Lannie Lee challenged
the Club to take on the task of collecting and donating necessary school
supplies for elementary age students who are in need of these supplies.
All supplies donated will be given to the appropriate Dublin 1SD
officials for distribution to students who need them.
According to the Club President the members of the Dublin Rotary
Club have been encouraged and challenged to bring school supplies to
the weekly meetings. These supplies will consist of the basics necessary
for an elementary school student to learn at his or her best. Ideas on
suggested materials included: paper, pencils, crayons, school scissors,
rulers, and school glue.
Lee stated that he had been involved in a project a few years back
when such school supplies were collected and distributed by a Rotary .
Club group to Students in Madera, Mexico. It is the Dublin Rotary Club's
desire to be supportive to the youth of our community and to do what We
can to assist our kids in being able to have the supplies they need to
complete their school work.
A donation box has been set up at the Dublin Police Department for
anyone who wishes to make school supply donations for this very worthy
project. Anyone with questions concerning this project may contact
Lannie Lee at the Dublin Police Department, phone number 445-3455.
