Penny Auction set for Comanche
A Penny Auction is set for Saturday, Feb. 20 to help raise
money for new playground equipment at the Comanche
City Park.
The auction will be held at the Comanche High School
Commons area with doors opening at 5 p.m. and the
auction starting at 6 p.m.
Every one of all ages can get in on the fun. The cups are
only $1 each, and playing is so easy.
Local merchants have donated some wonderful items for
the auction and admission is free.
A concession stand will be open with pizza and other
goodies.
Prom Dresses Needed
Are you the owner of a gently-used, stylish prom dress that
is just hanging in the closet? Make prom special for local girls
who otherwise wouldn't be able to afford a dress by donating
yours to the Christian Women’s Job Corp by April 1.
Clairette plans chili supper
A chili supper will be held on Saturday, Feb. 27, 5-7 pm, at
the Clairette Community Center sponsored by the Clairette
Chapter of the Texas Extension Education Association
The all you can eat supper plus dessert cost is $5 for adults
and $2.50 for children 12 and under.
Proceeds from the event will go toward renovation and
maintenance of the Clairette Community Center building.
Tickets are available from Clairette TEEA members or are
available at the door.
Lions planning pancake supper
Dublin lions Club will be serving pancakes and Clay’s
sausage Friday at the game with San Saba as a fund raiser.
Cost if $5 per person with pancakes served up from 5 to 7
pm
To go plates are being offered.
Advance tickets are available at the Dublin Citizen or any
lions Club member.

most of her live and worked

County and was chosen
Employee of the Month
during her employment. She
was an Episcopalian.

III and Bliss Woodyard; Six
grandchildren: Derik,
Lyndsey, Jeremy, Brandon,
Dwight and John; Four great

Harrell Memorial Chapel

Hospital in Temple, TX.
She was bom on Nov. 23,
1933 in Dublin to Caswell
Williford andTrudy (Adcock)
Williford.
On April 23*1955 she was
wed in Hobbs, N.M. to Joe
Newberry.
She is survived by her
husband; two sons, Howard
Newberry' of Wolfe City and
David Newberry of San
Antonio; six grandchildren
and 10 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were
Tuesday, Feb. 9 at Comanche
Funeral Home Chapel, with
burial at the Union Cemetery
in Comanche County.
Paula Jo Mulloy

Paula Jo Mulloy, 48, went
home to be with the Lord
on February 5, 2010. Paula
was born in Carlsbad, NM
on October 19, 1961 to
Robert and Connie
Mahaffey. Paula married
Gary Mulloy on February
16, 1990. She was a very
loved and cherished
mother, daughter, wife and
sister. She fought
tremendous battle with
cancer for nearly seven
years and proved to have
the heart of a champion.
Paula was an adoring
mother to her three
daughters and loved each
one of them dearly. She
was also a devoted wife to
Gary for twenty years.
Paula was a dedicated
member of Stonegate
Fellowship and carried
such a remarkable faith in
her everyday life. Paula's
strength and
encouragement touched
so many people.
Paula was preceded in
death by her brother Bobby
Mahaffey. She is survived
by her loving husband,
Gary Mulloy of 20 years
and three daughters, Abbey
Evans, Brooke Mulloy and
Landry Mulloy and two
grandchildren Cooper
Evans and Cash Evans, all. _

Clayton Bryan Barbee who
preceded her in death.
She is survived by two sons,

Waxahachie; four
grandchildren, four great
grandchildren and two great
great grandchildren.
Funeral services were
Wednesday, Feb. 3 at Harrell
Memorial Chapel, Dean
Bradley officiating, with burial
at Barbee Cemetery.

Dorothy Nell Stevens, 92 of
Dublin died Saturday, Feb. 6,
2010 at Mulberry Manor
Nursing Home in
Stephenville.
She was bom on Nov. 8,
1917 to Hollon and Willie
Kate Taylor in Brady, TX.
On Oct. 18, 1936, she was
wed in Dublin to Carl Stevens,
Jr. who preceded her in
death.
In life, she was a teacher
and a member of the Garden
Club.
She is survived by a son,
Richard Stevens of Granbury;
two daughters, Carla Stevens
and Donna Hightower, both
of Dublin; four grandchildren
and one great grandson.
Funeral services were
Tuesday, Feb. 9 at 10 am in
the Harrell Memorial Chapel,
Dr. Leslie Hollon officiating,
with burial at Dublin Liveoak
Cemetery.

On Jan. 28, three DHS
FFCLA students competed
in Tarleton’s Invitational.
Laura Garcia, Faviola Pantoja
and Irma Ortega got first
place in the Life Event
Planning category. On Feb. 5
the team competed in the
regional contest in Granbury
qualifying them for state in
Dallas Texas in April.
Maricruz Martinez placed
1st in Recycle and Redesign
earning her a trip to state
also.
