OBITUARIES
Malone clan gathers at city park
McClellan
Funeral services for Agnes Thur-
man McGellan, 97, were July 7 in
Harrell Memorial Chapel with
burial in Live Oak Cemetery.
Mrs. McClellan died July 3 in a
Stephenville nursing home.
She was a homemaker and hospi-
tal cook.
She was bom July 31, 1902 in
Erath County to John Joseph Farley
and Eva Elizabeth Reed. She mar-
ried Everett Thurman on May 20,
1920. He preceded her in death on
Jan. 1, 1961. She married Robert
Henson McClellan on Oct. 3, 1977
and he preceded her in death in
November, 1991.
Mrs. McClellan was a member of
Patrick Street Church of Christ.
Survivors include two daughters,
Priscilla Caraway of Stephenville
and Eva Cosby of Weatherford; 10
grandchildren; 24 great-grandchil-
dren; 14 great-great-grandchildren
and a sister-in-law. Lily Mae Farley
of Houston.

Funeral services for Jo Margaret
Stephen, 80, were July 8 in Patrick
Street Church of Christ with burial
in Dublin Live Oak Cemetery un-
der direction of Harrell Funeral
Home.
Mrs. Stephen died July 6 in a
Stephenville nursing home.
She was a retired teacher in the
Edinburg school system.
She was bom Feb. 5, 1920 in
Comanche County to Joseph Allen
Elliott and Esther Heathington. She
married Herman Royal Stephen on
June 27, 1943 in Dublin. He pre-
ceded her in death in 1986. Her
daughter, Judith Rhinehart, also
preceded her in death in the 1970s.
Mrs. Stephen was a member of
Patrick Street Church of Christ.
Survivors include a brother, Jo-
seph Elliott of Stephenville, and
many other relatives.
Blair
Julius Blair, 82, of Ralls, died
June 27 in Lubbock.
Funeral services were June 30 at
Ralls First United Methodist
Church under the direction of Ad-
ams Funeral Home with burial in
Ralls Cemetery.
He was bom in Watson, Okla.
and married Rebecca Mae Cowan
in Clovis, N.M. .
Blair was the father of Mark
Blair of Dublin.
Other survivors include his wife,
Rebecca of Ralls; sons, Larry of
Cone, Thomas of Ralls and Harold
of Crosbyton; daughters, Geraldine
LaBombard and Linda Blair, both
of Lubbock and Becky Jones of
Crosbyton; a brother, Willy Blair of
Meadow; two sisters, Esther Littrell
of Midland and Betty Hansard of
Brownfield; six grandchildren and
six great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Jan Wyche
Town, 80, were Monday in Siloam
Cemetery Tabernacle under direc-
tion of Harrell Funeral Home.
Mrs. Town died July 8 in a
Burleson nursing home.
She was an accountant.
She was born Feb. 10, 1920 in
Comanche County to Clifford
Allen Wyche and Georgina Tubbs.
She married Albert Fredrick Town.
Mrs. Town was a member of
Jehovah's Witnesses.
Survivors include her husband,
Albert Town of Burleson; a
brother, Dr. Allen G. Wyche and
his wife, Sally, of Burleson; step-
children, Fred Town of Myrtle
Beach, Calif., Jon Town of Phoe-
nix, Ariz., and Mary Garza of Fort
Worth; six grandchildren and two
great-grandchildren.

Hanson
Teresa LaRue Hanson, 36. a
Weatherford ISD teacher, died July
1, at home.
Funeral services were July 5, at
First Baptist Church in De Leon
where she was a member with
burial in the Dublin Live Oak
.Cemetery.
She was bom Oct. 12, 1963 in
Stephenville to Buster E. and
LaRue Hanson. A graduate of
Tarleton State University, she
taught school at Rio Vista and
worked at Weatherford for Parker
County Co-op Special Services,
serving Aledo, Brock, Gamer,
Millsap, Peaster, Poolville and
Springtown school districts. The
past year, she worked for Weather-
ford ISD.
Survivors include her parents,
Buster E. and LaRue Hanson, of
De Leon; sister, Suzanna Long and
husband David, of De Leon;
brother, Malcolm Hanson, of De
Leon; nieces, Kristol Gailey and
Geima Yelverton; nephew, Garrett
Yelverton; and step-nieces, Jenni-
fer and Amanda Long. She was
also survived by her aunt, Joycelyn
Hatley, of Dublin.

seeks applicants
for Bible Time
The Patrick Street Church of
Christ is now taking enrollment
applications for the after-school
Bible Time Program - 2000-2001.
Bible Time is a free service to
D.I.S.D. families whose elemen-
tary through fifth grade age chil-
dren are unsupervised after school.
Hours are 3:30 to 5:30 p.m.
The church van provides trans-
portation from both school build-
ings to the church annex. A snack
is provided along with Bible study
and singing.

The descendants of the late Will-
iam E. Malone met at the Dublin
City Park on June 24 and 25.
Officers for this year's reunion
were president, Kenneth Way of
Kerrville; vice-president, Cecil
Landes of Avondale, Ariz., and
secretaryAreasurer, Silva Spiva of
Kerrville.
Saturday activities included vis-
iting, swimming, basketball and an
auction for raising funds for the
reunion expenses. Coy Landes
furnished the grill and the meat
from his cattle ranch for a ham-
burger supper Saturday night. The
night concluded with guitar music
and singing by Kenneth Way,
Tony Way and Coy Landes.
Sunday morning was a sing-
a-long service led by Brenda
Tooley. Cecil Landes gave a short
devotional. Before the noon meal
was served, a short business meet-
ing was held. It was voted that the
reunion would be moved to Snyder
next year, and reservations have
already been made at the Towe
Park building for the last weekend
Buck McNeal recovering
from stroke in Arizona
Buck McNeal is recovering from
a stroke suffered July 5 in Arizona,
according to his son, Rod McNeal.
"He is in rehab and certainly
hasn’t lost his sense of humpr," Rod
said. %.

Clearman presents
TOPS program
Sue Clearman presented a pro-
gram entitled "How to Win While
You're Losing and Stay Young
While You're Growing Older" to
the weekly meeting of TOPS (Take
Off Pounds Sensibly) on July 7.
Best loser of unregained weight
is Gloria O'Bryan.
Fifteen weighed in and 11 stayed
for the program, including a guest,
Julie Pew of Wichita Falls.

this week. Each member will bring
a roll of "something" for the gift
basket. The contest will end on
Aug. 25.
