Aubrey Messer who lets his

hunt was presented a gift pack-

Monday. It was a can of flea
powder presented by Tommy
Hunt.
If you have any trouble don't
bother to call Chief of Police L.
B. Graham. "I have my guns
with me and can handle any
trouble" stated little Dennis
Ray Henry to Mayor Leslie
.Moore at the theatre last Satur-
day afternoon.
Felix Heel who celebrated his
birthday anniversary during
the week-end reports that his
wife had cake-failure trouble
similar to Cricket Lange when
she baked his cake. He said the
only difference was his wife
placed the large number of can-
dles on "flap-jack" cake.
Dr. 0. J. Koepke is really tired
of having his dental customers
1 stop at the window of the Post
Office with their mouths wide
open wanting him to look at
that cavity or abscessed tooth.
After all anyone can sell stamps
but w don't have another den-
tist in town.
The manager and bookkeep-
er of Wm. Cameron Co. rushed
out for a quick cup of coffee
Wednesday just before eleven
o'clock. When asked why the
xush Bill Schleede replied "Ed-
gar Wolf is there alone and I
certainly don't want the ncwly
wed waiting. Those good hot
biscuits might get cold. Schleede
-was envious of Edgar. After all
he stated "When he has been
married as long as I have been
he won't be getting such ser-
vice." Jalane Lindemann remarked
Saturday she was kinda glad
she had had surgery as she nev-
er had an scars to show or ex
periences to relate until recent
ly. "I can get in on the conver-
sation now even if it is in a
minor way."
Most wives encourage their
husbands to cut down on smok
ing but not Margie Knight. Af-
ter Kirk had quit for only 24
hours she was heard begging
him to smoke a cigarette to
settle his jangled nerves.
Everett Mason is getting
credit for putting the liartlett
Hatchery sign on the Bartlett
Electric Co-op's radio tower
Halloween night because he is
the only one known to have
enough "monkey" in him to risk
the climb.
We wish to thank the joker
-who put the sign "For Sale

window Hallowe en night. We
have always thought a copy of

Stress Placed On
Fire Drills In
Local School
(B. H. S. Bulldog)
During the regular home
room period on October 28 the
students were summoned to the
study hall to be instructed by
Mr. Swope about fire preven-
tion. Since fire prevention has
been stressed in the previous
weeks he saw fit to instruct the
students as to the correct pro-
cedure to be taken when a fire
bell has sounded.
Mr. Swope told the students
that confusion and indecision at
the time of a fire could result in
death or serious injury to sever-
al people; whereas a group
trained in the proper procedure
could clear a building in a mat-
ter of minutes. He pointed out
that there were signs on all the
doors giving the correct exit to
use in case of fire.
Each of the classes was asked
to choose a fire chief to perform
special duties during fire drills.
Since Ned Bartlett had con-
structed some obstruction signs
for use in safety drills he was
appointed Fire Chief of B. H. S.
Students Are urged to sound the
bell any time they know of a
fire in the building.
Several fire drills will be giv-
en in the followjng weeks so
that the students may become
acquainted with the rules.
While the group was togeth
er the question of what to do
in case of n tornado or atomic
attack was also discussed to de-
cide the safest place to be at
such times.
Henry and Stockton
Chosen As Schools'
Friendliest Folk
(B. II. S. Bulldog)
A recent survey was taken
in the Freshman class to decide
whom they considered the
friendliest boy and girl from the
other three classes in high
school. The Freshmen consider
themselves well qualified to
make this decision because of
their position in high school.
The two students considered
the friendliest are Charlotte
Henry and Andy Stockton.
These two seniors were judged
by their attitude toward fresh-
men and their friendliness to-
ward them each day.
