Thursday, Already! In Tenaha
By Doyce the Voice
Birthday greetings this week
to Chad Christian, Tiffany
Nugent, Connie Steele, Tristan
Denton, Heather Harville, Connie
Fletcher, and Jo Fleming. Saw
Marie William just go in the res-
taurant across the way with a
bouquet of beautiful balloons. A
group is celebrating Connie’s
birthday. Anniversary greetings
to Carl and Vickie Jemigan and
Morris and Angie Jeffress. This
coming Sunday, Lenard Anstead
will be celebrating his birthday.
The youth at First Baptist
Church are in camp this week at
Lone Star. Vacation Bible School
is taking place at St. John Church
and then on June 26, FBC will
start Vacation Bible School. Call
248-3207 for more details.
Had one of my water custom-
ers bring me some pepper yes-
terday. I think that he planted 14
different kinds. Only seven are
ready to be picked this week.
Someone else has shared cucum-
ber and bell peppers with me. I
got a picking of squash at
Heather’s garden. My two plants
have blooms on this now. They
grow so fast that I might have
some to pick by the end of the
week. My cucumber that was
two-three inches long was
picked last evening. Don’t know
how such a small plant could
produce something about 8
inches long. Everyone needs
rain.
Eddie and I had recently
worked a total of four hours on
our storage room at the bam and
when we got with it Saturday
morning we almost got through.
By four o’clock we were just
pooped and called it quits. A
couple of hours, and we’ll have
it completely reorganized. Found
several things that I had won-
dered where they were. We can
put out hands on most anything
now. I believe that some of the
Pubic Broadcasting television
programs had inspired me to get
this done. I kept thinking that if I
were to get sick, my daughter
would just declare it a disaster
site and get a trailer and haul it
all to the nearest disposal place.
We still need to work under the
bam itself. No one needs over a
hundred canning jars. I am just
like my father, a pack rat. The
bottom line is that this past Sat-
urday was very productive at the
Bailey’s place.
On June 7 Jubert Amilcar
Segovia and Mauro Gutierrez left
for basic training in South Caro-
lina. Later this month De’Andre
Horton leaves for Army Reserve
training. These three boys were
all members of our recent 2005
Tenaha graduation. We salute
them for being willing to serve
our country.

What’s UP around TIMPSON by Mary Bishop
WOW! those HOT scorching
days have arrived! My test last
week DID NOT reveal a pinhole
in my heart ~ good news I guess
as doctor said it was like plug-
ging a flat tire ~ just enter the
heart without open heart surgery
and JUST PLUG IT UP! I also
went Thursday to Saturday along
with Elbe Miller and our boss ~
Mable Cannings from MC Tours
and Travel ~ on an 3 day ~ 2 state
~ 6 city familarization (FAM) tour
to prepare and get ideas for the
Holiday of Lights Tours coming
up later this year. This was a jam
packed trip ~ lots of sites to see ~
Last week some for Corinth MBC
and other surrounding churches
attended revival services at
Timpson MBC ~ a young man
who grew up and graduated from
Timpson High School ~ John
Elvis Raines ~ who is currently
the associate pastor of Alvin
MBC near Houston ~ all said
what a wonderful job he did
preaching God’s word. Bertie
Mae Britton visited with Lucille
and Lowery Collins in Liberty
City last week ~ reported that
Bertie Mae really enjoyed their
visit ~ they also visited with her
on Sunday. Last Tuesday night
we had a bad stonn in the Corinth
community area ~ trees were
blown down and alot of power out
for several hours. Mary
Wedgeworth took Cara and Lance
(her great-grandchildren) to the
movies in Nacogdoches last Sat-
urday -then enjoyed pizza. Cara
enjoyed her trip to camp last week
- she was the youngest in her
cabin. Debra Barr took great care
of her seeing to all her needs. Out
of the 26 children who went - 5
made professions of faith - praise
the Lord! Mary, Lance and
Lance’s Mom - Fonda - visited
youth camp Wednesday night
and enjoyed worship services
with the group. FBC Timpson also
had a great week at GA camp in
last week. Sponsors were Suzanne
Strickland, Cindy Bush, Michelle
Hebert and Rachel Locke. Also
10 girls attended - one got saved
and one rededication - what a
memorable week was enjoyed by
all! Also FBC Timpson will be
having a BBQ at QuikStop in
Timpson this Saturday - June
18th. Please support this as the
money will be helping to send a
KID TO CAMP! A Special
Thanks to Quik Stop for allow-
ing us to have it in their parking
lot - thanks for your constant
support and love for the kids in
our community! The youth also
enjoyed Water Wars last night -
oh what fun! We encourage and
invite all youth in the community
to join us on Wednesday and
Sunday nights for our youth ac-
tivities as we have a summer
filled with some great activities
and outings. Youth will also be
attending Youth Evangelism
Conference in Dallas on June 24-
25th. Katelyn Oliver from FBC
Timpson left Monday morning
to go to Tyler for two days of
training before leaving on her
mission trip yesterday to New
Zealand - your Mom, Janie
Oliver - and the community have
worked so hard along with YOU
to make this happen. Country-
side Cowboy Church finally
signed the note last week on the
new property on Hwy 59 N be-
tween Timpson and Tenaha on
the right - about 1/2 mile from
the BoBo sign. Lots of work will
be taking place to get the place
ready for some super activities
planned for the community. They
have 20 acres - a pond - a house
and swimming pool to prepare to
occupy and go to work for the
Lord in the community! Anyone
wanting to give of your time and
effort to help to do some clear-
ing of the property or general
work or whatever the Lord may
lead you to do - contact Clark
Stricklin - 936-254-2310 for more
details! Mary Wedgeworth and
Ada Louise Essery attended the
Jana Strahan and Rickie Pate
wedding on Sunday afternoon at
the Holly Springs BC in Appleby
- the bride was beautiful and the
groom was handsome. They will
be residing in North Carolina as
the groom is stationed in the Ma-
rines in NC. We all wish them and
happy life together. Maggie Bush
(daughter of Cindy & Todd Bush)
had her tonsils out on Tuesday!
Iris Bailey says her mom Elbe
Quinn is feeling much better.
Buddy (L E) Bishop is still hang-
ing in there - day by day - Tom
and I plan to spend Father’s Day
with him and the family in
Montalba. We all love YOU
PePaw. Mary Wedgeworth and
Ada Essery visited Lee Powdrill
in Nacogdoches Medical Hospi-
tal - he was planning to come
home on Monday! Kara and Kylie
(his great-grandchildren) will be
so glad to have him home again
along with the rest of the family.

transporting van. An organiza-
tion (I think it is called Gridiron)
that provides vans to athletes
who have spinal injuries due to
sports delivered it last week. I
told O’Neal that it was the ap-
propriate color-maroon and
white. For those Aggie fans, it
had an A & M sticker in the back
window. O’Neal’s room looks
like a typical teenagers. He has
his football jersey on the wall
along with large encouragement
cards. He is just amazing to me.
Do keep him in your prayers as
the Lord is still in the miracle
business. In your mail this week,
you will be receiving our 2004
annual drinking water Quality
Report (Consumer Confidence
Report). If you have any ques-
tions, please call the City Hall
(248-3841). We continue to have
samples tested monthly and all
samples have indicated our wa-
ter is safe for our use. You
should see in this issue, details
about our Hall of Honor sched-
uled for October 8,2005. Please
contact this office or TISD if you
would like to have an applica-
tion for submitting a name for
inductee. I will continue to ask
you to send me a copy of ad-
dresses for your graduating
class. October 22 is set for Home-
coming this year and we want to
do a mail out. Additional activi-
ties are being planned for Home-

placement of blood when Mr.
Cliff Jenkins had surgery. If you
are able, please come and be a
part of this. They will be located
by the Fire Hall across from the

upon the number of donations during the school year

Tenaha ISD is starting a Hall

nated for this honor, one must
be a graduate of Tenaha High
School and been out of school
for 5 years or have had 5 years

year, there will be 20 people cho-
sen for this honor. In the follow-
