THS students com-
peted at the UIL Regional
Meet in Nacogdoches on
Saturday. Three of our stu-
dents placed in the meet:
Steven Carr placed 4th in
headline Writing; Mallory
Strahan placed 5th in
News Writing; and
Kaitlyn Sigler placed 5th
in Computer Applications.
These students were
coached by Leatha
Hightower and Beverly
Tippett. Macy Nix has
been named to a spot on
the State One Act Play
Honor Crew; she and Mrs.
Hightower will be in Aus-
tin assisting with the State
One Act Play Competi-
tion.
Jim told us at church on
Sunday that Leslie has
made it to the Azores; she
will enjoy spending time
with Johnathan, Victoria,
and Wes.We extend our
sympathy to our nieces
Nicole Stidham and Melissa
Moser in the loss of their
grandmother, Frances Moser
of Dallas. She and her twin
brother J. T. Sinclair both
passed away last week and
shared a graveside service in
Mt. Pleasant on Thursday.
Mrs. Moser was a sweet per-
son who loved her grand-
daughters a lot.
Good luck to our Timpson
track teams as they compete
at the regional meet in
Nacogdoches on Saturday.
They have been really suc-
cessful this year.
I visited with Aunt Marie and
Uncle James yesterday after-
noon; Shannon and Judy
Ramsey were also there, and
we all enjoyed seeing one
another. Texas students will
finish another TAKS testing
this week; I don’t know who
is happier it is done: teach-
ers or students.

CAMARON CHOICE
Camaron is the son of
Letcia Steadman and
Bobby Choice. He has
been especially important
to his best friend and little
sister Laneicia. She has
special needs and Camaron
has always been there to
care for her in times when
his Mother was working.
Upon many occasions,
Camaron sacrificed his
own time and activities to
be responsible and help
care for her. Camaron is
the light of her life and she
will forever miss him when
he leaves for college.
With all of this respon-
sibility at home, he man-
aged to keep his grades up
and was very active during
his high school years.
Camaron has been the
heartbeat of the award-
winning Tenaha Tiger
Sweepstake Band since be-
ing introduced to the drum
line in the seventh grade.
He very quickly became a
leader and played an inte-
gral part in this organiza-
tion because of his attitude
Tiffanie Fleming of
Tenaha at the Hemphill
Track Meet last week.
The meet was to prepare
those who qualified for
the Regionals next week.

IN REMEMBRANCE OF OUR WIFE & MOTHER
ON MOTHER’S DAY
Lucille Ward
1917 -2009
A FAREWELL
POEM
Now the time has come to say our last
farewells.
How much you meant to us and shared
your life as well Guiding us and raising
us with love and discipline,
And laughing also through the years, to
make our burdens light, To wipe our
tears, and calm our fears, when young
we were in fright
Remembering the sunny days, and
early morning dawn, And hearing bacon frying in your kitchen which was strong.
Where many meals were prepared and made to fill us up, So that we had strength for
the day, to wake, to work and play. Then cleaning us and preparing us for the sleep
at end of day.
So many years have come and gone, and memories we’ve shared That give us joy
and sadness, or tilings we could not show for unable To relate, but God has given us
unspoken love, as silently we show, Each others words, and warm embrace eternal
we shall know.
Weary days and painful nights have made their way to you And restless time has
spent its sand not losing a single grain.
Your longing to be up above with loved ones once again Kept you strong and steady,
yet not your time for then.
But Moment has so now arrived, with gleaming, comfort bright For now you see the
Hand of Him, extending to give you flight In peace forgo, to rest again with God’s
embracing Light, for we
Shall remember all you gave and not for moment’s plight, to mourn In pain or cry
again is not for us to do. For in our lives at Moment’s End, we shall journey too, and
embrace again on Glory’s Shore to be
Once again with you.
