RAM AH NEWS by Bro. Bill Perry for Gladys Horton
Hi from the Ramah community.
We had 46 in for Sunday School,
and about 100 in for Church. Our
Birthday people for this week were
Buster McMahon, Rainey Coker,
Alyne McDaniel, Gladys Horton,
Haley Monroe. There were no an-
niversary couples this week. Our
visitors for today was most all of
Della Templin’s family , and most
all of Gladys Horton’s family. The
reason for so many of each family
was in celebrating of Della Templin
and Gladys Horton Ninetieth birth-
day. Many people, more than I
could count, from our community
came to celebrate their birthday.
Della and Gladys seem to have a
good time. They said it was good
to see so many of their friends and
family. Our flower arrangement
for our church this morning was
sent in mem ory of Rebel McMahon
. Today would have been Rebel’s
forth birthday. We miss you Rebel.
We were sadden to hear of the
death of Karen Fulmer. Our prayer
go out to her family. Harry Perry
told us today that his grand-mother,
Missouri Wilson, was in the Hos-
pital in Nacogdoches.
We pray that she gets better
soon. George and Sandy Davis are
sick and could not be with us to-
day.
Dorothy and I had Cheryl and
Bill Mills down this week end. We
had a good visit, and Bill tells me
that Lillian Mills is doing fine, but
still has a long ways to go. He ask
for our prayers. Dorothy, Denise
and I are staying in Lillian’s home
while the new parsonage is being
built.
They have become great
friends, and we appreciate all that
they have done for us and the
church. The parsonage is really
coming alone great. The cabinets
are going up, the bricks are almost
finished, trim is being put on, more
paint is going on...and we are ex-
cited. Something different is hap-
pening every day. God has been so
good to us.
We honored our veterans today.
We gave out red carnations to our
veterans in honor of all that they
have sacrificed to keep our coun-
try free. Thanks to all the veterans
who gave of themselves to keep
this country free. We have a free
America because of what our vet-
erans have done. I am glad to be
an American. So many people take
their freedom for granted. They do
not understand what price was paid
for their freedom. So many men
gave their lives, and so many men
were crippled so that we might
have the freedom we have today.
Remember that the next time you
start to complain about the
US A... what other country would
you like to live.
Now a note from Gladys
Horton: May I express my heart felt
thanks to everyone who had a part
in Mrs. Della Templin and my 90th
birthday party. Everything that was
done, was done and enjoyed by a
large group of people. There were
more than sixty that signed my
guest book, and I was on the op-
posite side of the entrance. Our
friends and family made the day
perfect. My son, Frank and his
family, Cheryl, Amber and April,
left soon after the party on their
way back to Bedford. Many oth-
ers had quite a distance to travel.
Thanks again to everyone that
came and helped make our day
perfect. (Gladys Horton) From our
house to your’s and from Gladys
Horton.. .Blessings.
Tigers headed to the playoffs after big win
By Elizabeth Eaves
The Tigers excited season
came down to the last game.
They would either play are go
home. The Tigers handed Mt.
Enterprise their second district
loss of the season. Tenaha ended
the district in second place with a
4-1 record and a 7-3 for the sea-
son.
The Tigers did a awesome job
this week in holding them to a
skimpy three points. The Tigers
held the Wildcats to a small fee
of a total 128 offensive yards.
The Wildcats quickly found them-
selves down 7-0 after Tenaha
scored the first points of the game.
Bruce Shields threw a 23-yard
touchdown pass to Jeffery Th-
ompson. Juan Monroy added the
PAT to give the Tigers a few ex-

home against Mt. Enterprise.
While the girls team whipped
upon ET, the boys did their share
of damage also. Time does fly
when your having a good time, and
that's what Gary was doing. The
game was fought hard, and the
outcome was with Gary on top,
68-36.
Top point seeker was Jon Eric
Hough who rang in 19 points.
Next was Trace Anderson with
16 points; Ryan Woodfin did his
share with 15 points; Jamie
Cranford had 10 points; Justin
Cranford with 6 points, and Blake
Young with 2 points.
Thursday, today, the boys will
face off with Slocum at the
Martinsville tournament beginning

tra points. During the first play
of the second quarter the
DaCallier McClure scored on the
one yard line giving the Tigers a
lead of 13-3. The PAT from
Monroy was good but little did the
Tigers know this would be all the
points they would get for the
game.
Defense was the name of the
game this week as the Tigers
were all over the Wildcats in ev-
ery way. The Tigers offenses
were were unable to get much
going despite turnovers in the third
quarter. The Tigers came together
with a good game plan and
showed the Wildcats who was
boss.
" The key to winning against
Karnack is going to be is to keep
the ball in the offenses hand and
to have to careless mistakes. As
long as the we play with technique
and run are plays right we will
prevail" said Xavier Tutt. Cary
Gleen said " We feel good about
being in the playoffs because
there are many teams that didn't
get to make it to the playoffs. So
therefore we couldn't feel any
better. We are going to be prac-
ticing very hard this week even
though we have a bye so that we
can keep our mind set and won't
loose focus on the game. We have
to stay fresh week after week so
we can get better at everything
that we do." As our coaches say
" If we don't out work them we
don't deserve to beat them.
The Tigers will have a bye
game this week but will be in ac-
tion next Friday night against
Karnack in Tatum. So Tiger fans
come out a support the best team
in Texas.

Tennessee Tidings by Maggie Casto
Hi! It’s Maggie again, bringing
news and views of the Tennes-
see United Methodist Church and
the Tennessee Community. Al-
ways remember, today is a gift
from God, that's why it's called the
present. Join me is a cup of cof-
fee and let's share a little of this
present.
We had twenty three people at
church last Sunday, six of them
visitors. Barbara and Allen Sapp
and their daughters Kimberley and
Kelsey were visiting Barbara's
mother Lolette Balkcom. Ann and
Vernnon Paul were down form
Owasso, Oklahoma for Martha
and Don's wedding. Our visitor's
are always a blessing and a joy.
Friends we don't see very often.
Pastor Loe's sermon was titled
" Secrets in the Church." Intrigu-
ing title but now it sounds like he
was telling us if we don't share
the gospel, share the scripture,
share the love, share the times
we're blessed and comforted,
share how God touches us, then
we are the secret keepers.
Our special music was "In the
Garden," "How Great Thou Art,"
"Seek Ye First," (beautiful descant
Martha) "Just A Closer Talk With
Jesus" and" Invisible Hands." A
little something for everyone.
Well, many of Martha and
Don's friends and family were at
the church Saturday to share in
the joy of their wedding. It was a
truly beautiful and meaningful ser-
vice. No, I didn't quite get the quilt
top finished in time, but I almost
made it. Just a few more days
and it will be complete. Then I'll
start quilting it. Love ya, Martha.
Welcome to our family.
Choir practice was Tuesday
afternoon. We're getting serious
about rehearsing the Christmas
music. The Tenaha Christmas
Tree Lighting is in December 6
and we plan to participate. Then
on December 16, several if the
small Methodist churches will
combine to present a Christmas
worship through music. But with
all our early preparations for
Christmas, let's not forget
Thanksgiving next Thursday. We
have so many blessings to be
thankful for. And wonderfully,
Christmas in on the top of my list.
I'll be with you again next
week. Come on out to Tennes-
see United Methodist Church and
join our church family for prayer,
praise and song. Your hug is wait-
ing for you.
TENAHA COMMUNITY
CHRISTMAS TREE PROJECT
The Annual Christmas Tree Lighting Project, sponsored by the
Tenaha Businessmen's Club, is now underway. We urge you to get
your names for the lights in as soon as possible. The lights on die tree
are to commemorate the memory of or the honor of someone you
want to remember. Each light will cost $ 1.00 for each name. This has
become a wonderful tradition during our Christmas season to get
your list ready and turn them in to Doyce Bailey at the City Hall. If
you wish to mail your remembrance, the address is City7 of Tenaha,
P.O. Box 70, Tenaha, TX 75974. The proceeds will be used for a
continual update of all the Christmas In Tenaha Lighting Projects.
Names will be read and as usual prior to the Christmas program
December 6th, and printed in the Timpson and TenahaNews.
