THURSDAY, AUGUST 9,2001, TIMPSON & TENAHA NEWS, PAGE 7
Another rainy Tuesday morn-
ing for us!! Seems like these small
showers keep popping up. Sure
has helped my grass grow though.
Hope you folks are receiving some
of this needed moisture. It has
been so hot and dry. Our firemen
have been busy and have been
considering a burn ban. Watch
those fires now as the grass is dry
and will burn lots of land in a short
time!!
I heard on the news this morn-
ing that Timpson Corner Texaco
had an armed robbery yesterday!!
This is terrible!! People sure get
desperate and have lost their
minds! Hope that things will calm
down for those who were involved
and I am just thankful that no one
was hurt and the culprit was
caught!!!! We live just down the
street from the store!! Sort of
scary.
Happy birthday this week to
David Alford and next week to
my daughter Jody Stephens.
We had good church services
at Mt. Olive Sunday morning and
a successful business meeting on
Sunday night. We are getting some
good offerings for the F amily Life
Center that we are in progress of
building. If it is God's will, thing
will progress and the dirt work will
begin soon. This new center will
have classrooms and a recreation
area, an office for the minister and
bathrooms and kitchen area.
Should be really nice.
The little kids sang a special at
church Sunday night. Those par-
ticipating were Tristan and Wyatt
Hairgrove, Madilyn and Molly
Sanford, Gavin and Madison
Pierce. They sang God is so
Good!! They are so cute and try
their best to sing loud. Bring your
little one out for this special time
in their lives. Those of you who
do not take your child to church
are missing out on a blessing!!
Grandson Hayden spent the
afternoon on Saturday and then
Saturday night with us. We really
enjoyed him. Mommy Emily is
home with him during the day now
for awhile and she has really en-
joyed him too!! We miss him daily
but at least he is getting some
Mommy time!! He is so cute does
some of the funniest things!!
Granddaughter Allysha is
growing like a weed and cute as
a button. Does it sound like I'm a
proud Grandma or what?! She is
standing up now and won't be long
til she walks. She looks so much
like her Daddy Andy that it's
scary!!!
Judy Crump traveled to
Shreveport and spent some time
with her mom. She really enjoyed
the time with her.
Herman and I along with
Charles and Kathi Townes en-
joyed a day in Shreveport shop-
ping for Kathi's school clothes and
had dinner together. We had a god
time and enjoyed visiting while
there. Kathi begins school this
week as Pre-Kindergarten
teacher again this year. The kids
love her so much as she loves
them. Leisa Chadwick and Cindy
Bush have also been getting busy
ready for classes. They have
moved their rooms and are trying
to get them ready now.
This Saturday night will be fun
night at Mt. Olive so bring your
tennis shoes and some energy and
get ready to play games and domi-
noes and enjoy good food and fel-
lowship. Jenny Ramsey sure is
ready for someone to help her get
together a volleyball game!!
We all enjoyed a special in
song by Shawn Hairgrove, Derek
Pierce, Rusty Sanford and Jacob
Duke. They are doing such a fine
job with their group. Anyone in-
terested in suggesting a name for
then??
Happy birthday to Pegi
Cocorran on the 19th and also to
Javier Garcia on the 19th. We will
be having a birthday celebration
for Pegi on the 18th at our house
with her son Mark from Califor-
nia. We are all very anxious to
meet him! Herman, Pegi and I
drove up to Murval the other af-
ternoon as she is looking for a lake
house to buy. We had a good af-
ternoon and then enjoyed dinner
at Golden Corral in Carthage. Did
not realize that Murval was so
large and there were so many
beautiful homes located there.
Linda Morgan called me and
said Vic's daughter Patricia was
married a few weeks ago in Ar-
kansas and will be cel ebrating with
a reception at their home in a few
weeks. Linda is busy with her

Glen and Judy Brittain spent a
few days with her parents the
Stephens in Sante Fe this week
as her mom is not well Please
remember her at this time.
I talked with Marie Hutto this
week and she is till not well and
needs our continued prayers. Her
sister Vema from Swift also needs
our prayers and she has suffered
from a severe stroke and is in the
hospital in Nacogdoches. Please
remember these two special la-
dies! ! They mean a lot to me.
Herman and I went riding on
the golf cart the other afternoon
and enjoyed a visit with Mary Neill
our neighbor and also visited with
Debra Smith and then we trav-
eled down to the Woodlawn Cem-
etery and looked around. It is re-
ally well kept and a nice cemetery.
I visited with K. W. and Lucille
Decker the other afternoon and
enjoyed seeing them. Daddy and
Mama have ducks again!! We
used to have all this stuff when I
was little. They that my grandson
and great grandson Hayden really
loves to see them and just squills
with joy at them.
I had a Pampered Chef party
on Monday night and had a good
turn out. Those who came were
Kathi Townes, Jody and Allysha
Stephens, Ann Phillips, Linda
Morgan, Linda Hudson and Mor-
gan, Vicki Amos and Makayla,
