What Is FFA
By JEANETTE BARNETT
Historian
To some people the Future
Homemakers of America is
just another organization of kids
with meetings and parties. Yes,
it has these meetings and par-
ties, but that is not what it
really is.
It starts with a “Tea” for
the eighth grade girls given by
the larger FHA group. Expla-
nations are made telling about |
the organization while every-
one enjoys the refreshments.
Then at the beginning of their
Freshman year the girls .start
their Freshman FHA Chapter
with their own officers which
they elect. They have their own
meetings, but attend the larger
meetings too, and they have
two money making projects.
They also have the same privi-
leges as the larger FHA Chap-1
ter They have money making ;
projects to benefit a family or
a special ‘'Home" of some type.
In March officers for the com-
ing year arc elected and take i
over in May. These new officers
take an oath to the office that
they are about to take charge
of.
FHA, to most voting ladies,
means mare than just another
organization. It gives a better
understanding, training, and ba-
sis for America’s homes.
The monthly district meeting
of the Congregational Methodist
Churches will meet at the Dub-
lin First Church Thurs. night.
Services will begin at 7:00 o’-
clock. We are expecting visitors
