THE DISAPPEARING HAT
Calling Dick Tracey! Calling
Dick Tracey! There is a distur-
bance at 42nd and 3rd streets.
Something about disappearing
hats. We figure Hats Mahoney and
Sunbonnet Charlotte are back in
town.
Dick Tracey looks at Tass
Trueheart and says “I’m sorry, but
I gotta go.” As Dick reaches for
his hat he discovers it is gone. So
he puts his coat on and shaking his
head leaves for his car.
Arriving at 42nd and 3rd streets
he secs a small man wearing his
haL Making his way through the
crowd he says, “Hats you’re under
arrest.” Just as Dick Tracey
reaches to put handcuffs on, the
hat falls off and it isn’t Mahoney,
it is The Kid. The Kid said, "I’m
sorry, 1 didn’t mean to cause any
trouble. I just wanted to be like
you Dick Tracey.
So Dick and The Kid went back
to the cafe and had a doughnut and
a glass of milk with Tess.
