Wendy Marie Good and Bradley
Charles Blackmon were united in
marriage at 5*15 p.m Saturday, May
25, in St. James Catholic Church,
with a nuptial mass. The Rev. Emilian
Novak officiated the double-ring cer-
emony.
The bride is the daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Donald Good of Sulphur
Springs.
The groom is the son of Mr. and
Mrs. Charles McCamy of Albertville,
Ala.
Escorted to the altar by her father,
the bride chose a formal white satin
gown embellished with silk Venice
lace. The bodice featured a Victorian
neckline and a yoke of sheer illusion
enhanced with iridescent sequins and
pearls. The bishop sleeves, which
were adorned with motifs of lace and
pearls, fell to the bride’s wrists.
The full skirt fell to the floor and
was adorned with beaded motifs of
pearls and iridescent sequins. The
sheer yoke back was outlined with
lace scallops. Enhancing the full
back, the cathedral-length train was
adorned with beaded lace motifs with
sequins and pearls.
Her fly-away veil of bridal illusion
was gathered to a headpiece of clus-
tered flowers and sprays of pearls.
The bride carried a natural bouquet
of white calla lilies accented with
touches of bavardia and cascading
springeria.
Denise Bridwell of Daingerfield
served as maid of honor. Also serving
as bridesmaids were Amy Bowers,
Tracie Sickles and Sandy Sachs, all of
Sulphur Springs, and Mary Simmons
of Tyler.
The bridal attendants wore formal
gowns of iridescent black taffeta. The
bodices featured shawl collars and
pleated sleeves. The fitted waistlines
were adorned with sequined buttons.
The fined skirt fell to formal length.
The bridesmaids carried natural
clutches of pink alstroemeria lilies,
white miniature anthuriums and pink
roses. Springeria was used to accent
the clutches.
Jeffrey Blackmon of Horton, Ala.,
served as best man. Serving as
groomsmen were Daniel Good of
Sulphur Springs, Leslie King of
Boaz, Ala., Randal Taylor of Chat-
tanooga, Term., and Anthony Wright
of Greensboro, N.C.
Carrying out the theme, the
groomsmen wore boutonnieres of
white and pink miniature calla lilies
and ming fern.
Barbara Taylor served as organist
and Karol Ann Taylor and Randall
McDaniel were the vocalists. Musical
(Mrs. Bradley Charles ‘Blackmon
selections included This Is All I Ask
of You and Whither Thou Goest.
The sanctuary of the church was
lighted with two 20-branch cande-
labra. The altar was flanked with two
massive fresh arrangements consist-
ing of calla lilies in shades of pink
and white, roses, agapantha, spider
mums, stock, gerbera daisies, larkspur
and bavardia. The unity candle
was similarly decorated with flowers
arranged in a cascading design.
The bridal path was outlined with
globed hurricane lamps, each
enhanced with fresh flowers of pink
and white stock, gerbera daisies, iris-
es, daisies and miniature carnations.
Immediately following the ceremo-
ny, the bride’s parents hosted a recep-
tion at Hopkins County Regional
Civic Center.
The registry table featured the
bride’s book and portrait. It was
adorned with fresh pink and white
larkspur, spider mums and roses. Sara
Donaldson, friend of the bride,
presided at the registry table.
The combined bride and groom’s
table was skirted with gathered white
satin accented with pink ribbon. The
four-tiered white cake was decorated
with fresh flowers as was groom’s
five satellite chocolate cakes.
Gertrude Dewitt, friend of the bride,
served.
Guests were served a dinner con-
sisting of carved beef, new potatoes,
squash, garden salad and taco salad.
A fresh fruit centerpiece accented the
table. Guest tables were decorated
with fresh flowers and baskets of
calla lily plants.
Dancing followed dinner.
Following a wedding trip to
Cozumel, Mexico, the couple will
reside in Sulphur Springs.
The bride is a 1991 graduate of the
University of Texas at Tyler. She cur-
rently an agent for Travel House.
The groom is a 1986 graduate of
Auburn University. He is the produc-
tion supervisor for Ocean Spray.

wedding included Mr. and Mrs. Otto
Good of Melbourne, Ken.; Mr. and
Mrs. William Niewahner of Florence,
Ken.; Mr. and Mrs. Donald Ucht-
mann of Highland Heights, Ken.; Mr.

Hills, Ken.; Mr. and Mrs. Marc Ben-
hard of Fort Wright, Ken.; Debbie
Johnson of Erlanger, Ken.; and Mr.
and Mrs. Wayne Litmer and family of
Southgate, Ken.

Showers and Tanks
The groom’s family hosted a
rehearsal dinner immediately follow-
ing the rehearsal on Friday, May 24,
at Echo Executive Lodge. The menu
consisted of lemon grilled chicken,
potato sticks, bacon-wrapped green
beans, garden salad and hot fudge ice
cream dessert. Toasts were made to
the bride and groom.
On Sunday, April 7, a shower was
held in the community room of Sul-
phur Springs State Bank. It was host-
ed by Amy Bowers, Nita Bowers and
Sandy Sachs. The room was decorat-
ed in the bride’s chosen colors.
Assorted nuts, cookies and mints
were served, along with coffee and
punch. Fresh flowers enhanced the
setting.
The home of Regena Filak was the
site of a shower on Sunday, March
17. Hostesses for the event were Mrs.
Filak and Gloria Fuhrmann. Pink aza-
leas graced the serving table. Cake,
nuts and homemade mints were
served, along with coffee and punch.

graduation (Parties
Joel'LUiott
Joel Elliott, a 1991 graduate of Sul-
phur Springs High School graduate,
was recently honored with a gradua-
tion party. It was hosted by his aunts
and uncles, Mr. and Mrs. Max Baxter
and Mr. and Mrs. James F. Jones, at
the Baxter home.
A baked potato supper, along with
homemade ice cream, was served on
the deck, which was decorated with
oil lamps trimmed in school colors.
During the evening, guests played
games and fished.
Guests included Mr. and Mrs. Billy
Sam Ellion, parents of the honoree;
Richard Carpenter, grandfather of the
honoree; Jeff Tittle; Amy Johnson;
Cody Edwards; Jeremy Coleman;
Becky Beck; Leah Lair, Daphne Hill;

Michael Mom
May graduate, Michael Horn, was
honored with an “End-of-School
Blast” on May 29.
Swimming and food were the order
of the day.

Sheri Carpenter, a Sulphur Springs
High School senior, was honored
with an outdoor swimming party on
Monday, June 3, at the home of
Wayne and Tammy Cooper.
Guests were served from tables
decorated in the school’s colors of
blue and gold. They were served
assorted sandwiches, with various
chips and dips.
Special guests were Mr. and Mrs.
Layton Carpenter, parents of the hon-
oree, and Juanita Cooper, grandmoth-
er of the honoree.

Dusty Chester, a 1991 graduate of
Sulphur Springs High School, was
honored with a celebration May 22 at
Ken's Pizza.
The honoree and guests received a
token to remember their graduation
day.

Miki Askins, a recent graduate, was
honored with a swimming and patio
party in honor of her graduation on
May 19, at the home of Bobby and
Wanda Harris in Yantis.
Hosts and hostesses for the event
were the Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Harris
and Jody and Jennifer, and Jimmy
and Tracie Funderburg of Sulphur
Springs.
Guests attending were Angie Dick-
ens, Shelley Vititow, Penny

Heath Gilbreath. The honoree’s par-

served, along with a graduation cake

area was decorated with graduation
balloons.
