JASPER-Three kef turnovers
dumped a victory into the laps of
the willing Jasper Bulldogs in
Thursday night junior varsity ac-
tion.
Livingston out played and out
hustled the Bulldogs, yet Lion mis-
takes led to three of Jasper's four
v touchdowns, resulting in a disap-
pointing 29-27 loss for the Lions.
The junior varsity team has
played extremely well the last few
weeks, winning back to back games
over Conroe Oak Ridge and New
Caney. Thursday’s loss drops
Livingston’s record to 3-4 overall
and 1-1 in district play.
Lions Record
Madisonville 28, Livingston 0.
Livingston 37, Coldspring 6.
Nederland 17, Livingston 6.
Lumberton 14, Livingston 6.
Livingston 29, Oak Ridge 12.
Livingston 47, New Caney 21.
Jasper 29, Livingston 27.
Desire
The junior varsity Lions showed
a lot of desire to win despite the
turnovers and at one point being
down by two touchdowns. They
dove back in after each mistake and
nearly overcame them. A missed 2-
point conversion kept the game
from being tied when the Lions
scored late in the game.
The Lions had exceptional play
on both sides of the ball. Running
back Nathan King led the Lions in
rushing with 129 yards on 27
carries and scared twice. Jeremy
Sylcstinc added 32 yards and quar-
terback Brian Cook had 23 yards
rushing.
Cook also connected on 4-of-6
pass attempts for 82 yards. John
Dimas, a pass catching pro, had all
four catches, including a spec-
tacular 4-yard touchdown catch in
the end zone. Dimas caught the
pass from Cook just inside the line
in the right comer of the end zone.
He had the ability to get control of
the ball and know exactly where he
was. All said and done he managed
to keep both feet in bounds with
not an inch to spare and make lire
catch. Name your favorite pro
receiver and they could not have
made the catch look any prettier.
* Dimas finished the game with
catches of 13.20,45 and 4 yards.

mistakes) several Lions played
