Saved Again
Our Titus County reader says
the balloon tires proved the
salvation of this country, as the
old style tires requiring a pres-
sure of from 60 to 120 pounds
each, were about to consume all
the air in existence.—Clarks-

Escaping gas in a well at,
Pritchett, has attracted atten-l
tion, and gave rise to the theory
that there may be oil some-
where in that section.
It is a water well, not being
used, and what first caused the
discoverey of gas in the well was
that a boy sitting on the curb
lit a cigarette, struck the match
to a piece of paper and dropped
it in the well, when the gas ex-
ploded and
top with force enough to blow j Watkins
his hat off. | Iowa St
The experiment can be re-
peated at intervals of every few
minutes and the same thing will
happen. The gas will flare up
and burn nearly to the top of
the well.—Gilmer Mirror.
