At the meeting of the Chamber of
Commerce, which will be held at the
City Hall tonight, the members will
vote on whether or not to change the
meeting date from once a week to
once a month.
It seems to be he opinion of a
number of the members that the
weekly meetings are too frequent,
that the attendance is small because
there are so many meetings, and if
the meetings are held only once a
month mlore memoers will attend, as
they will not become so tired of the
meetings, which are generally along
the same line each time.
There is a board of directors ap-
pointed to look after most of the bu-
siness of the Chamber of Commerc?,
so it is not necessary to call the body
to a meeting to handle the busness.
It will be much easier to call the
board of directors together and trans-
act the business, as they have to pass
on almost everything anyway.
The natural gas project will also
be discussed again tonight, as it
seems fairly certain that Paris is de-
termined to have this commodity
and has sent an expert to the Was-
kom field to figure out the cost of
piping and the volumte of the field.
If Paris gets a gas line, they must
come through Mt. Pleasant, or near-
by, so this place is vitally interested
in seeing Paris get the line, and is
willing to co-operate with that city to
this end.
