LIVINGSTON - Seven people
were transported to the Livingston
hospital following a two-vehicle
collision at 3:47 p.m. Wednesday at
the intersection of South Washing-
ton Avenue and Abbey Street in
Livingston.
A 2000 Mercury Villager driven
by Rebecca Sue Dupre, 24, of Ona-
laska was southbound on S. Wash-
ington, approaching Abbey Street,
and a 2001 Chrysler Concord
driven by John Willie Daniels, 87,
of Livingston was turning from the
turn lane facing north on South
Washington, according to
Livingston Police Department Of-
ficer Kevin Blackburn. He said
Daniels was in the process of turn-
ing when it was struck by Dupre’s
vehicle. The impact sent Daniels’
vehicle into a telephone pole.
Jaws of Life equipment from the
Livingston Volunteer Fire Depart-
ment was used to free one of the
victims from the wreck.
Both drivers were listed as hav-
ing sustained possible injuries.

Tribe to host
blood drive
LIVINGSTON - The Blood Cen-
ter - East Texas and Alabama-
Coushatta Tribe of Texas invite all
eligible blood donors to come to
the Alabama-Coushatta Reserva-
tion Friday, June 30, from 9 a.m. to
4 p.m. The blood drive will be held
inside the Indian Health Clinic.
Everyone who donates or at-
tempts to donate will receive a free
T-shirt and triple points to spend in
the Commit for Life store. Of
course, the best incentive is the
donor’s opportunity to save three
lives with their single blood dona-
tion.
All donors must weigh at least
I 10 pounds, be at least 17 years old
and be in general good health.
Bring a photo ID and eat a good
meal before donating. More infor-

were four passengers in Dupre’s
vehicle, ages 3 months to 14 years
of age. Two passengers in Daniels’
vehicle were listed as uninjured,
according to the officer’s report.
Dupre was cited for no insurance.
Also reported Wednesday was a
two-vehicle collision at 6:05 p.m.
at the intersection of PM 1988 and
FM 3126.
A 2000 Chevrolet Suburban
driven by Kayle Beth Anderson,
17, of Shepherd was at the stop
sign at FM 3126 at FM 1988 and
failed to yield right of way to a
2000 Chevrolet Suburban driven by
Michele Stephenson Thomas, 42,
of Livingston, according to Texas
Highway Patrol Trooper Larry
Pitts. Thomas and a passenger in
Anderson’s vehicle, 17-year-old
Britany Pitrucha of Shepherd, were
listed as having sustained possible
injuries in the accident.
Anderson was cited for failure to
yield right of way from a stop in-
tersection. ' • /
Pitts also investigated a two-
vehicle collision at 4:05 p.m. Mon-
day on U.S: 190 at FM 2457.
A 2005 Chevrolet pickup truck
driven by Anthony Earl Burrell, 45,
of Corrigan, towing a trailer, was in
the crossover, attempting to turn
southbound onto FM 2457, and
collided with a 1998 GMC pickup
truck driven by Robert Lee Sherrod
Jr., 36, of Goodrich, which was
eastbound on U.S. 190, the trooper
indicated. '
Sherrod was listed as having sus-
tained non-incapacitating injuries
in the accident
Burrell was cited for failure to
yield right of way from an open
intersection.
