Three take top honors
in county food show
Three youths took top
honors in the Polk County
4-H Food Show in early
November, then represented
the county Saturday (Dec. 1)
in the district show in
Nacogdoches. Each girl is a
first-year 4-H member.
First place winners in the
junior division in the county
show are Kaycee Jones, 9, of
the Livingston 4-H Club. Her
main dish entry was stuffed
manilcotti; Lisa Moore, 8, of
Providence 4-H Club, whose
side dish entry was a broc-
coli and cheese casserole;
and Jennifesr Hargraves, 8,
also of the Providence 4-H
Club, whose vegetable-rice
salad was entered in the
bread and pasta category.
The 4-H Food Show is spon-
sored by the Texas
Agricultural Extension Ser-
vice and the Morrison Mill-
ing Company of Denton.
The district show is at
Stephen F. Austing State
University.
Lisa is the daughtesr of
Mary and Putney Moore of
Providence; Kaycee is the
daughter of LEllen and
Guinn Jones of Livingston;

Food show winners enterprise photo
These three 4-H Club girls were winners in the Polk County 4-H Food Show, then represented
Polk County in the district competition in Nacogdoches Saturday. From front to back are Lisa
Moore, 8, who won first place in county with a broccoli casserole in the junior division of
vegetable dishes; Jennifer Hargraves, 8, who won first place In the junior division of pasta and
bread, with a cooked rice and vegetable salad; and Kaycee Jones. 9. who won first place in the
junior main dish division with stuffed manicotti. Ail girls participated in the club food groups,
with this the first year for each one. With them is Sandy Dennis, Polk County Extension Agent
for Home Economics.
