press our deep appreciation to
everyone for their help before and
after we lost our dear little girl.
Especially do we thank Rev. Victor
Schmidtzinsky for the beautiful
funeral service arid the little hoys
and girls who acted as pall, bear-
ers and honorary pall bearers, the
good Sisiters and school children
for their continued prayers, also
to the Plummer Funeral Home,
Eckhart Flower Shop and to Or.
Meador for all his help during her
long illness. We appreciated the
lovely flowers and Mass offerings
and sympathy cards. We want to
thank the REA employees who sat
up at the Funeral Home and to all
those who sent food or helped in
any way. Also thanks to the REA
for their contributions and to
everyone who donated to the
“Ethel Marie Callahan Fund” sev-
eral months ago, and to the local
Cancer Society for the use of the
little wheel chair. Our deep sor-
row and grief is Lessened by all
the wonderful kindness and
thoughtfulness of so many people
in the community. We shall ever
be grateful and may God bless

Mr. and Mrs. E. A. Johnson to
enjoy a delicious barbecue dinner
Sunday afternoon and help them
celebrate their 50th Wedding An-
niversary. Everyone enjoyed a
very pleasant evening and many
lovely gifts and flowers were re-
ceived by the honorees.
Mr. and Mrs. F. T. Wortham
returned home Monday from a
visit atvRio Hondo.
Visitors in the home of Mrs.
Joe Villemain this week were Mr.
and Mrs, Julius Backhaus, Mrs.
Hattie Dunlap and Mr. and Mrs,
R. H. Richards.
Mrs. C. A. Ruede visited Mrs.
Ethel Ostman Tuesday afternoon.
Mr. and Mrs. Noah Bergman and
children have moved to Bandera.
They will be missed by their
friends here.
Mr. and Mrs. W. A, Griffin
have moved to the E. E. Hoskin-
son Ranch.
Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Edwards and
children and Mrs. Ethel Ostman
were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs.
J. E. McDonald Friday-afternoon.
Mrs. Pauline Fortner visited?her
husband, SFC John L. Fortner,
at Fort Chaffee, Arkansas, over
the week-end.

Sr., was honored on her 87th birth-

Mrs. Milton Anderson.1 Mr. and

the same manner as heretofore and
assures the public that they will
receive the same courteous ser-
vice.
Almost 4 inches of rain fell here
Monday and Tuesday. The Medina
School bus was unable to cross
the bridges both days.
Mr. and Mrs. I.ee Mansfield
spent the week-end in' Houston
with their son, Norman Mansfield
and family. They returned home
Monday.
The community deeply sympa-
thizes with Mr. and Mrs. Wayne
Singleton and Grandma Clark in
the passing of Mr. Singleton’s
uncle and Airs. Clark’s brother-in-
law, John Clark; of Bandera.
Mr. and Mrs. Les Schmidtke of
Bandera were over here Tuesday
shopping and visiting in the Sin-
gleton home.
Rev. and Mrs. C. S. Price and
Mrs. A. A. Jeffers attended the
annual WMIJ meeting at the
Trinity Baptist Church in Kerr-
ville Thursday.
Mr. and Mrs. T. E. Sauter of
Von Ormy spent Saturday night
and Sunday here.
David, the little son of Mr. and
Mrs. Jesse Burger, was bitten by
a stray dog one day last week.
The head of. the dog was sent off
to Austin to ascertain if it was
raided, even though the bite was
not serious. Some very thought-
less persons seem to think that j
there is a need for stray dogs
and eats here in our town. We
have plenty of our own, thank you. |
and please, if you have a dog or i
eat that is a nuisance to you, re- !
member it will lie to some one j

Hunt spent Monday night and
Tuesday with Rev. and Mrs. C. S.
Price. The Hardins are old friends',
of the Prices when Rev. Price was
pastor at Hunt.
